Think it makes sense if you have a QB like Cam Newton. You gain a hat, but need a real threat of an arm. It’s a gimmick, but one that works. Nobody going to put $40 million in that chainsaw to run in the regular.
It’s hard to work when a big ass shadow is over you. Reminds me of the movie Moneyball. Also I understand you can’t blow up leadership every year either. I’m pretty sure they are having the same conversation we are, and hopefully not making excuses. I don’t think Vrabel is that kind of guy. downing's plays are beyond dumbed down and vanilla. A huge step back from Authur smith titans always have been WAY too conservative on offense would rather punt it to other team(rather than risk a possible interception zero risk/reward insight) and put all the pressure on the defense to win games. Which doesn't equate to any success should/if team get into the playoffs. Titans still for some reason only use tight ends for blocking plays rarely do they catch any passes. Also these low percentage fade passes 1st and goal are classic titan calls which often don't work the timing is off a little and its a wasted play/call.
Everytime I see the Titan WR screen pass play ran I want to throw something at the TV.
