Dude, my computer isn't even that new...

But I am looking to find a nice Tandy from RadioShack if I can scrape together $10...

Better start saving then....Radioshack want top dollar:lol:

Unless it has some historical significance, I don't see why a useless computer is worth anything.

Vintage cars still drive on regular roads with regular gas. Vintage computers just sit on the shelf and look curious.

The rookie QBs...

Pre-season passing ratings.. 1st and second rd QBs..

Tavaris jackson-109
Gay cutler------108
Matt lienart-----95
Vince young----69
Kelly Clements--54

Grading the top 3..

Vince young---B--- completed 51% of his passes. Ran for 75 yards in 12 carries. Has made obvious progress between the first preseason game and the last. Showing a lot of poise and has not really turned on the turbo running the ball. Will be more agressive when the games count.

Gay Cutler---A+--What can you say so far? Has to be one of the best preseasons ever for a rookie QB. His numbers came over 4 games with 62 pass attempts so you can't just say he had one great game. Completed 65% of his passes with no ints..

Matt lienart---A+--Maybe as impressive as cutler when you consider he didn't have an early camp and missed the first preseason game. Lienert came right out and went 10-15 in his first game, completed 62% of his passes with no turnovers. Despite missing the first game he still managed to play a lot getting in 47 pass attempts. Lienart also looks like another rich gannon running for 42 yards in 7 attempts..

I'm a vince young supporter and see no problem with him but there can be no mistaking the fact that cutler and lienart look great. How could they have played any better?

Titanpride, I don't know that there's anything that will make you like the VY pick; it's clear that you prefer a traditional pocket passer, which definitely isn't Vince.

However, perhaps this will assuage your concerns:
You bring up some good points. My two biggest hurdles in getting over the Young pick is 1: I was adamant about drafting Cutler even at #3, 2: I still think Young is in-accurate for the pro level ( which could change ).

why?Really... what makes you think that?
Because he didn't time that long pass to Bennet right
on that PA Friday in Green Bay?
What about this?

this isn't college anymore :wink2:

reese drafted young because he likes big, athletic, mobile, accurate qbs. i don't like leinart, but i hope cutler is good. i think vince is going to be fine. i love that the coaches like his attitude. there's no way a guy with that much athleticism can't succeed as long as he works, and he is. he rarely makes the same mistakes twice and stays late working with chow and the qb coach (whose name escapes me). vince wants to be great, he believes in himself, and his teammates believe in him. most busts either get hurt or complacent with their contracts. barring injury, vince will be fine.

Good Post,thanks for the stats.

We always new VY would be behind Cutler & Leinart straight out of the box & I really wanted us to take Leinart instead. They both look like they'll be great Pro's.

That said if they weren't in the draft more would be being made of the way VY is way ahead of where pro scouts thought he would be now & I really like him. We could not have wished for a player with a better attitude & work ethic.

Actually Cutler did have an interception his last preseason game. I believe it was returned for a TD. Not that it matters.

We talked about this pre-draft. This class was leaps and bounds above Smith, and Rodgers.

I think all the rookies looked decent. Only time will tell. However, I am excited about the upside of VY. He is looking better and better.

V-man..

You are right. Cutler had 4 TDs and 1 int. Cutler looks a lot like rothlisberger to me a guy who can complete a high percentage of passes but create yardage as well. To complete 65% of your passes and still average 9 yards per pass attempt is outstanding and that is why rothlisberger has been so effective.
