It's supposed to be like The Prestige. I meant to see it years ago, but never got around to it.
It's weird as they came out around the same time but they're not really the same aside from the magic aspect.

I thought The Prestige was fantastic. Hard to see The Illusionist topping if... Think I had this exact conversation in a thread a couple years ago.
I'm 15 minutes in to the illusionist. I was scared you had the financial means to follow through with your threat.
I tried to watch The Prestige after people telling me it was like The Illustionist. But I couldn't get through much of it without getting distracted. Tried watching it on about 3 separate occasions.
Saw the movie Battleship last night... and honestly I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Reviews were pretty bad for it, but I thought it was pretty awesome. Although if you just throw an explosion in a movie, it keeps me entertained. But the aliens didn't look fake, acting wasn't terrible, ton of action, hot hot hot star girl (Brookyln Decker), and had alot of humor.
Has the total opposite effect on me.
