oh yeah, the guys who took steroids from the 60's to the mid 80's were such great role models.

frankly, i think more guys have been busted for drugs because the league has actually tried to crack down on it. i dont think more guys use now, more guys get caught. also, back in the day this would be a none story out of tennessee. thanks to espn and the nfl network sports is a 24 hour national media business now.

Just as I quoted you before, my friend. "They're not role models because they make alot of money, They didn't test back then. It's ESPN's fault, It's 24 hour national news' fault. It's anyones fault but the poor little athelete."

Please...

if what guys do off the field stop you from watching football, i pitty you.

I'll take your bate...

Heaven forbid it gets to the point where we have eleven convicted felons (released of course) on the field. Are you going to stand up and cheer them along with your son?

The problem with that line of thinking is that these guys make tons of money on kids buying their jerseys, football cards, etc. Emulating them in the backyard. Playing their favorite players on PS2, XBox, etc.
Right. They may not want to be role models but they are.

When Titanium and I were at camp a couple of weeks ago, we stood 10 feet away from where Pacman was signing autographs for fans. It only took a glance at a kid to know how much they admire these guys. Maybe it's not so much for the player himself but because they are on a team they love.

These players represent something more than theirselves to these kids.

This is exactly why we get more and more of this behavior. Too many people are ready to make excuses for bad behavior. Quit being enablers for bad behavior. If your son did this, would you say "son, that's alright, the mechanic does it too." ?

I would rather call that draft pick a loss and replace him in next years draft.
and would you rather get rid of your son, call him a loss, and have another child?

For cryin out loud, Pacman has done ONE thing previous to this incident, and that was dropped. He has NEVER been convicted of anything. All the guy did was get drunk.

Good god, quit making mountains out of molehills.

you do a real good job of twisting peoples words around. i never said it was the media's fault pacman did this. if he did this, he should pay the price. i've that everytime one of our guys has gotten in trouble.

and they didnt test the way they do today. thats a fact. jack lambert admitted he and many of the guys(didnt name names) on the steeler's teams of the 70's used steroids. i guess those were great role models?

i dont know if this had anything to do with rage. he was drunk. some people are happy drunks some arent. he got pissed because he thought someone stole his wallet.

i wouldnt even go as far as to say he has an alcohol problem either(not saying you did). he's a 22 year old who was having too much fun. it happens.

and you know what? this isnt even the worst thing that could have happened. he could have gotten in his car and drove in to a tree. we shouldnt be glad it happened, but we should be glad nothing worse happened.

:applause:

Everything that I was going to say on the issue.

He had behavior problems in college. He got arrested at the night club. He was seen at the scene of a shooting (shot fired anyways) in downtown Nashville. His car was picked up in a drug bust, then drunk in public this morning. I'm sorry, but that looks like a pattern to me.

yes. i'm a titan fan. i support the team. i have my own life away from work and school and i know if i got drunk at a bar and became a little rowdy i wouldnt be fired or kicked out of school.

i dont care what these guys do off the field. as long as they're there between the lines and playing well. in fact, i think there was a team like that in the late 70's and early 80's. they won a few super bowls. they're called the oakland raiders. those super bowls dont count any less.

So if you just happen to be near a shooting you are automatically involved?

Might wanna check your facts on the drug bust and shots fired before opening your mouth.

Did that, Thanks...

BTW, where did you get your name "Gunny"? If you don't mind.

Just because he was drunk doesn't change the fact that he couldn't let it go because of his anger. Same at 615. Same for clips of him cursing reporters in his driveway. Same for numerous personal fouls in games. Same for run-ins with rappers. Same for comments to reporters last night.

There is a clear pattern.

It can be dealt with if the man is man enough to admit he has a problem.

Then you'll know the car in the drug bust was registered to someone else. Not Pacman and just because he knows the guy doesnt mean he is involved.
I know of some people involved in drugs, does that automatically make me a druggie?

And you'll also know that he had nothing to do with the shooting.

When I was a kid, my car was registered to my mother. But the seat covers with my name on it made it mine. Plus, he admitted it was his. Remember, he loaned it to the guy to shoot a music video? I never said he was involved in the shooting. Usually only the gunmen are. Good investigative work my friend.

First of all the car was registered to someone in a different state.

Second of all, it had the pacman logo on it.

And third of all, since he is cleared of being involved by the police (or know more then you or I) why are you STILL saying he is involved?

I did not say he was involved. I said his car was there. (registered in a different state, so what, he's from a different state.) I did not say he was involved in the shooting, I said he was there. He seems to be close to alot of people who get charged with crimes. Most criminals are.

We can beat this dead horse all you guys want to. I hope Pac can put this behind him and have a great season.

But whether you think players are roll models or not ( And they are, whether they like it or not) Whether you want to watch R-rated football or not (I don't)

These types of problems off the field ALWAYS, ALWAYS --And did I mention ALWAYS find their way onto the field, into the locker room , and have a negative influence on the season
If you're tired of losing (and I am) you should stop making excuses for behavior that hurts the team...whether that behavior occurs on or off of the field

Amen Brother.

It's one thing to get drunk, it's another to use getting drunk as an excuse to break the law. Drinking was not the problem here. He can drink whatever he wants. It was breaking the law that became the problem. If you are an angry drunk, that's a potential problem. It's not an excuse to do whatever you want. It's a clue you actually do have a problem, because you are potentially destructive while drinking. It's not an addiction unless you do whatever you must do to get alcohol, but right now it is still a problem for him, because he becomes potentially destructive to both himself and the public after drinking. He is allowed to drink, and nobody has a problem with that, but the problem is what he does while he is drunk. You lose control, you become a danger, and if you are a potential danger, they will put you behind bars to serve the public.
