That and not screw over McNair, had VY played with McNair i truly think we would have seen a different VY

At the time, there was no way the Titans could keep McNair due to all of the restructures that were previously done to McNair's contract. I think he was owed 9 million that season with a cap hit over 20 million. Once McNair, smartly, declined to restructure his contract (again), it was over.
