Even in Merida the Costco was being hit hard. Canned meats, vegetables, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, Mayo, Lysol wipes all out. Merida got it first confirmed case of the coronavirus. A total of 15 in all of Mexico. They expect coronavirus outbreak to hit between March 20 and March 30.
Seems like the people here who have it had all been to Spain within the past week or so.
In the town we live in there is a lot of older expats in their 60, 70 and 80's which has the highest death rate. We fit in the 60-70 range so yes we are worried about it.

People in Vegas , smushed together in close proximity for 3 days straight ...

I would think the draft must go on with no fans. This seems like an event they could still pull off with zero fans. But who knows at this point. Seems like the mass panic hasnt reached its peak. In over a month will see whats the new normal or if things calm down?!
We were thinking that the casinos in Vegas have to be one of the worst places to go right now. Tons of people. Machines with buttons you touch to gamble. Most live in other places so they take it back with them to spread.

If I were to create a virus I wanted to unleash on the world, I would make Vegas ground zero.

Yeah, it’s not gonna hurt most of us. True. But it’s not about us. We can’t afford to be casual about it for our elders sake and the immune weakened folks sake. The more of us have it, the more likely they’re gonna get it.

100%

34 million people over the age of 65. That number jumps to 41 million if we count 60-65

You're also right about the flu comparison. That has always been near sighted and not seeing the big picture.

"30k people die from the flu and we dont hear anything about that"

:stfu::wall:

I went grocery shopping just fine, minimal impact

Wife went this morning. A lot of the stuff we normally buy was sold out and this was a Kroger marketplace. Meat was scarce. Frozen pizzas had no pepperoni. Refried beans and canned goods were scarce too

Toilet paper was all gone. Place was packed. Glad I didnt go

Yup think about poker chips - about how many people touch them and play with them in their hands on a daily basis.

Raiders sure picked a terrible time to relocate but that’s a whole different topic that is connected into this all

That’s insane

plenty of meat, although the cheaper stuff was gone. A lot of frozen veggies were gone, and so was most of the rice.

I walked right up to self checkout.

they were out of TP and bottled water, but other than that is was relatively normal.

Went to the market yesterday just to grab a few things around 4:00. Figured that would be a good time to go, NOPE! Absolute mayhem. The toilet paper binge is real. Completely wiped out. Toilet paper, napkins, Kleenex, and paper towels all gone.

We’re over in Cozumel and the first two cases in Q.Roo confirmed last night. I expect it’s already here with 20,000+ people visiting off cruise ships each day for the last month.

I'm not concerned...

Only level of concern I have, is whether or not I get an occasional plate of pizza rolls lol.... And all you loons out there buying giant quantities of food (and including 40 things of shh paper) are threatening that lol..

People out here hording TP --- it's the damn flu with Upper Res infection..... You should be hording NyQuil/DayQuil and Mucinex.... smh

Also, if you never drank 8 glasses a day of water.... now would be the time to start lol
