Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

There were people here upset we took him. Crazy thing is, we took him in round 2 at pick 45. A few years prior, a different GM also took an RB in the 2nd at pick 54. That player was Bishop Sankey, who was the first RB off the board. Let that sink in. What a difference a competent GM makes.

Webster's 2nd rounders : Dorial Green-Beckham, Bishop Sankey, Justin Hunter & Zach Brown. All duds as Titans that crippled the franchise wasting four 2nd rounders although Zach Brown became a good player after departing Tennessee, but it didn't benefit the Titans in any way.

Robinson has hit on far more 2nd rounders, although that 2016 draft class has some blemishes in the 2nd round. Dodd flamed out and Austin Johnson was never more than a rotational piece who had little to no impact on the defense. Henry was obviously a big hit, Landy has shown a lot of promise and AJ Brown is the best WR we've seen the likes of since Mason. Hopefully Fulton lives up to the hype.

Austin Johnson never made sense in the 2nd rd. At least with Dodd we had a void he was suppose to fill. But dont ask fat DE's to play OLB ever.

This is what J Rob had to say when asked about Austin Johnson after selecting him : “We’ve targeted Austin for a while there," GM Jon Robinson said. "He can play nose, he can play (end), there’s a lot of versatility along the defensive line with him …. He’s got some quickness, he’s got some ability to shoot gaps.”

It sounded as if J Rob viewed Austin as someone that could shuffle around on the line and play multiple positions like Jones has been able to do.....but it never really materialized. When you select a 2nd rounder you're expecting a player that can start and have an impact. Austin was never more than a rotational piece, started a handful of games over 4 years. I'm not going to label him a bust. It's my opinion that he fell somewhere in-between being a bust and a contributor, but for a 2nd rounder so much more was expected.

didnt want to start a thread for this but does anyone know a reliable site that has the stitched Henry jersey?

I dont want that crappy $100 version, it fits like a paper bag. But the ones that looks like this look like a more natural fit
thumb.aspx

Still a joke that this is the only limited jersey they sell for us, and maybe Mariota too. Nfl.com actually has 0 current titans players jerseys for sale that are the limited version

I noticed

Sad

I'm in a customer support chat right now with fanatics just telling them do you guys know there are actually 0 options in this style for an entire NFL team, I'm sure they won't care, but they responded you're right that seems wrong, let us take a look.

There should at least be a Henry jersey there

I was on nflshop last week looking for a good jersey and we arent the only team with no love. Of the 32 I counted 24 teams I think that offered the nice version of jerseys

So a whole quarter of the league, embarrassing tbh. They got back to me with we apologize and it should be in our future plans lol. Gee thanks, I can't even throw away my money on a Henry jersey

I contacted them months ago and they were very unclear of what they would have.

At this point they should know tho... Henry is inked up long term and so is Tanny, yet neither are options for the nice jerseys, smh

Johnson's best chance was to develop into our starting NT but he never was more than a JAG. Jones ended up moving to NT and that is where he plays the best. Damn good actually.
