Yes, Adoree "could" play great for the Giants.

Or he can get injured again. 14 games the last 2 years. Imagine the guy was on another team and we were the one doing the signing, and he was one of our big name FA's. Would you be happy about it?

I find a hard time believing anyone would be

Lol well considering people want Sammy Watkins, John Ross, John Brown, and many others that are injured often.

I don’t think lack of health was the reason we cut Adoree. There was something that happened and I think JRob and Vrabel made an emotional decision. Those don’t usually pan out.

How was Jackson ever good not great show me? He could not field a punt ( which was part of the reason we drafted him), not physical, not as fast in pads as clocked, laid out nearly the whole year, then played awful, got burned many times, and I just do not think he really likes football and that is why he was cut!

Really think we are gonna regret cutting him.

if you cut him and then he signs a bigger deal that’s normally not a good sign.
the dude played what, 2 games last year? and still sucked

he was a puss all season, what value did we get from him? good riddance

We will not get a comp pick for Adoree because we cut him to avoid paying his guaranteed salary....same thing the Bears did with Floyd last yr.

Adoree’s agent did a great job of pushing the fact that Adoree was visiting the Eagles if the Giants did not pay him....Adoree is now the 12th highest paid CB in the league...same avg per yr as Gilmore...

Adorees stats just don’t warrant that type of money...2 INTs in 4yrs

I was wondering the same thing. I'm guessing we just couldn't find a trade partner in time. If we would've kept him past a certain date, we wouldn't have been able to cut him without incurring the dead cap. Still a shame. I find it hard to believe a team wouldn't have given up a 3rd or 4th for him. JR sucks again

I'm a memphis grizzlies fan. The grizzlies gm has shown me that it's possible to find a genius gm who makes few mistakes. The grizzlies gm is almost autistic. Not very personable, but super detail oriented and thorough. The Grizzlies GM wouldve undoubtedly traded adoree for a 2nd round pick IMO. JR is the opposite. Very personable, but not very thorough with his decision making. I hate to say it, but we might have to start looking elsewhere if he can't kill this draft and give us a winning year this season.

Honestly, I wouldn't be too surprised if alot of this was vvrabels fault either after woody woodyards comments about him. I could see vrabel bullying JR into making bad decisions. If this is the case they both need to be replaced if we can't turn it around fast.

They're both on the hot seat this season.

I know I know...I need to take a chill pill, but like I said, I've seen gm excellence first hand, and JRs lackluster performance is not that. Whens the next time we're going to have the best RB a top 6 QB and a top 10 WR in the league? **** doesn't happen very often, if this management can't capitalize now, then they never will.
*** NEWSFLASH ***

Titans Front Office worried more about who can get those sweet jackets than they are winning football games

Dude this isn't Madden. A lot of assumptions and jumping to conclusions here.

A second? "undoubtedly" a second round pick? Who's in the world would give up a second for an underperforming CB, coming off a mystery serious injury, playing under the 5th year option? Bill O'Brien was fired. If there was a potential trade, I'm sure Trader John explored it.

AJ's coverage stats the last 3 years:
Year Games Targets Comp % TDs QBR INT
18: 16 115 56.5% 6 89.4 2 Very solid
19: 11 54 66.7% 1 94.3 0 Bad
20: 3 16* 81.3% 3 145.8 0 Wow!
*13 completions! Only 3 targets were incomplete with 0 passes deflected.

Also, his missed tackles % jumped from 10% in 2019 to 20%.

He's clearly regressing. I honestly would of been ok keeping him. Maybe he bounces back from this injury, but he's certainly not worth $13M per year. $16M in 2021??? That's crazy. I trust JRob knows more than we do.

One GM will come out this looking like a Donkey. Maybe it's JRob, but looking at their track records, my money would be on Gettleman.

The grizzlies gm traded Mike conley and a 30 million dollar contract for a 1st rd pick in which they got Brandon clarke. He also traded an expiring contract for iguodala and a 1st round pick. And then traded iguodala for a 1st round pick.

All I'm saying is it's possible to find a professional GM who is actually a genius and works other GMs with their wit and smarts. JR is not that type of gm clearly.

I was exaggerating a bit about getting a 2nd for adoree, but we should've gotten something at the very least. The fact that we got nothing at all and then he signed a 39 million dollar contract proves that we could've easily gotten something of value. It also proves the ineptitude of our FO. You telling me the giants wanted him bad enough to throw him all that money but wouldn't have given up a pick for him? That's laughable. No, our GM just didn't do his due diligence like a true professional should.

Also the hypocrisy of this post is hilarious. You literally just posted in the other thread that OJ howard wouldn't be traded for anything less than a 3rd rd pick and now you're getting on me for saying adoree could've been traded for a 2nd in an ideal world. Lol

Granted, I do not keep up with basketball like I do football but hasnt it been 3-4 years since the Grizzlies have been above .500? Titans have not been below .500 since Jrob he took over. Warts included

Good trades are nice and all but so is winning.

Jrob and Adoree were not on the same page about his injury. Theres more to that story than we know about.

I mentioned it above but theres more to that story than we may ever know about. Im thinking Titans thought he could play and he thought he couldn't. It would explain why we saw him running just fine in practice, multiple times, and he didn't see the field

The grizzlies have completed an entire rebuild in less than 3 years already(as soon as we hired the new GM). We have the youngest team in the nba and we're already a .500 team in our 3rd season since the rebuild started and our 2nd best player (Jaren Jackson) has been out all season. It's partly due to luck, but it's mainly due to the fact that we capitalized on trading players we didn't want and then making sure we used those picks wisely and drafted good players. 2 things JR hasn't done consistently at all. JR reminds me of the grizzlies last GM, Chris Wallace. Drafted hasheem thabeet over steph curry. We got lucky and traded for Zbo and Marc Gasol and Tony Allen, and they magically had a chemistry that was inexplicable. However that luck only got us so far (western conference championship). And we also only had like 3 playoff seasons because when the luck ran out, we had no more talent due to horrible draft day decisions and a lack of wise trades.

3 years before Jrob:

3-13
2-14
7-9

After Jrob:
9-7 x 4
11-5

AFC Championship his 4th year
Playoffs last year with a laughable defense

Jrob has made some mistakes along the way but is also responsible for the players you mentioned before.

All of those were due to Jrob

If youre impressed with a GM that gets a team to .500 in 3 years, surely the GM that helped take us from sucking to winning 5 years straight gets some credit. (and yes, Jrob bombed last season)

Last year showed us it doesnt matter who our corners are if we dont have something that resembles a pass rush. To build that in the FA, you have to get the money from somewhere. Adoree was not worth 10 million and his cut, imo, is Jrobs view of trying to take advantage of the window we currently have

Jrob also has to stock the shelves for a 53 person roster vs a 15 person roster. (point being, lots more room to hit, and miss) Jrob will be under a microscope this off season but overall, hes the best we have had in a while

Yeah definitely something fishy going on with that story.

Come on man... trades aren’t the same in the NFL.

And I'm not saying Jrob is the worst by any means. I'm enjoying this success while it lasts, I'm just afraid it won't last long if he keeps making as many poor decisions as he does good decisions. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I like JRob and I realize we could do worse, that's why I want him to succeed. And, IMO, you succeed by doing things like like trading a valuable player for a pick instead of cutting him because you didn't do your due to diligence or at the very least you weren't prepared.

Also, nba is a little different than the nfl. It's arguable that it's harder to do a rebuild in the NBA due to super teams, the soft cap, etc. I'm not trying to compare apples to oranges, just saying there are genius type people out there who could do JRs job better than him, and I hope Amy and JR both realize that soon so our team can see true, extended success.
