With the NCAA all over his ass it really wasn't a surprise that he made the leap back to the NFL. His name was never gonna be hotter after winning a national championship.

Franklin sucks though.
Much lesser issues to worry about, but his rep as a s**ty coach is very much in tact.
It says something about his character. He allowed all this to happen either by condoning it or choosing to ignore countless red flags. Knowing that eventually someone would figure out what they were up to, it was too obvious.
When called to account the entire university rallied around him. Then when things got too hot he ran off like a thief in the night leaving that same university to pay the consequences while he's rewarded with a better job.
What transpired with Franklin was similar to what transpired with Art Briles. Franklin somehow clung onto a job with a program that won a couple of national titles. Briles I'm not sure what exactly he's up to these days? Coaching high school or some shit.

If he does, we can mark the LA Chargers off the teams we worry about list. Talk about a distraction and a polarizing figure. No matter which side you fall on with his issues he is a distraction. There will be in players in that locker room that want nothing to do with Kaepernick. There will be Free Agents that won’t go there.
Can he coach ? I don’t know. Maybe. But he hasn’t been. Not sure how you just jump in after being an activist and coach pro football.
