Never seen a player regress the way Byard did in the course of a year. Looked absolutely lost at times and played scared. Forget the scheme, his basic fundamentals were atrocious. Not sure what happened to him.

Seems pretty identical to the regression we saw from Griffin years back. Griffin was a ball hawk hard hitting safety and then it went all downhill.

The difference last year being it wasn’t just the safety. When Griffin started to slide, it was isolated to Griffin. This past year, several guys played much less effectively than the previous season.
