League sources say we have narrowed it down to five candidates.

I would give Steve Smith a shot if he wanted it. Great receiver that knows most of the DB's weakness that are in the league now because he is just out of the league.

Does it even matter lol, Tennessee is just not allowed to have anything good at WR

Not sure which is worse, Titans WRs or Browns QBs

That's a great point. Tennessee really hasn't had any good WR dating back to Houston with the exception of Mason.

1K yards
2016 Matthews got close at 945
2013 KW
2011 Nate Washington
2004 Mason and Bennett
2001-2003 Mason
1991 Haywood Jeffries and Drew Hill

A couple years in between we had Webster Slaughter and Chris Sanders who got in the 8-900's a couple times but never really had any star WR's since the run n shoot.

That's probably a bad idea

See Bruce Matthews
True former players don't always make good coaches but like you said what does it matter with our group. Might as well aim for a great one lol
Someone like Smith could teach them other aspects, same as Rice. The little nuances of the position.

Well I can pretty much guarantee Steve Smith is not up for the job.

Guy just retired to raise his 2 year old kid. Missing out on his other 3 growing up was bad enough he says...

Jerry Sullivan, Jaguars current wide receiver coach likely to not be retained with a new coaching regime. One of the best in the business.
