People said mean things on social media. A lot of people nowadays just can't handle other people talking shit to you. Thats 2 on the Titans now crying about this stuff.

Eh, non-story.

1) Fans and fans here constantly complain about the players not caring. But we give the players crap when they show they care.

2) Therapy is mainstream now. And it is certainly far preferable to what Isaiah Wilson did here with his self treatment.

respectfully disagree with #1. Professionals are paid to perform. As a professional if you don't perform- you have to be accountable until you do. Tannehill should hold himself accountable to the team and ESPECIALLY the fans for his playoff bed chitting performance. He hasn't really done that. He just played the "I'm a victim", "I need 'therapy' " card.

If you are going to go public with "therapy" go public with a statement of accountability and regret to the fans.

Seems to me he has kind of turned into a dick since the playoff loss. Maybe he was always a dick but was doing a good job of covering it up until the playoff loss. I have been thoroughly disappointed with him since the end of the season and I was a Tannehill fan going into the playoff game.

There has to be something behind the Landry situation.

The man went to therapy. He had a hard time accepting that playoff loss, which he should. He recognized it was taking him to a bad place mentally. So he chose therapy to get his mind back on track. He did a good thing to get himself right. Shows he cares about the game. He recognized the signs of a downward spiral and actually did something about it. It can only make him be a better QB. After seeing so many players making bad choices that ruin them as a person and player, it's kind of refreshing to see a player make better choices. I hope it gets his head right, and he slays it for the 2022 season.

Im thinking hes just a dick that puts out that fake nice guy Christian persona. I started to get that vibe when he would throw and interception and they would pan the camera to him on the sidelines, he really didnt seem to care about anything. I think hes planting the seeds to a shitty 2022 season performance with the whole " I needed therapy" blah blah crap.

Anyone catch the AJ Brown presser the other day? He kind of threw Tanny under the bus if you caught it. A reporter asked AJ on what Philly is going to get in AJ Brown. Brown goes on to say some typical stuff, but he starts going on about winning. He said that he wants to win, not just in regular season but in the playoffs. To me that could be swipe at Tanny but also the Titans in general, just thought it was interesting.

Well said. It’s 2022 and there is still a stigma among many who believe those seeking professional help for mental issues are weak or cowardly. It’s quite the opposite.

Good for him. Some "fans" are just ridiculous and will choose to be miserable and hateful on both ends of a coin.

Also, the "not his job to mentor" comment is completely understandable. This really is a non-issue that will get spun by media and fans into drama. It isn't his job. That's why you pay coaches. His job is to get better and win football games. In doing that, he's automatically helping the young gun. I doubt Tannehill is going to shun or ignore Willis. The comment is fine and I wouldn't be surprised if that's his way of having fun with the media.

With that mentality when AJ was having mental health issues Vrabel should of told him to kick rocks, it's not his job to mentor AJ, his job is to make the Titans a good football team. Mentoring isn't just job/football related things it encompasses a lot of areas.

You’re right it’s 2022. People don’t stigmatize seeking help like they used to. But many also consider best kept as personal business. A better response Thill could have made was an apology for his performance and he’s taken steps to get it straight for this upcoming year.

too many people today play the victim/ health card for secondary gain to avoid accountability. I see it EVERY day. Social media driven need for immediate affirmation.

Tanny apologized to the defense after the game. He owned it.

And his poor play in the game is the very reason he says it was the first time he “needed” therapy to deal with the disappointment.

You read the article before you posted it, right?

I am sadly not ignorant of psychology dudes and gals

was required for a position back in the day with the USAF

I saw zero need or benefit then nor do I now

Of course I read it. No apology to the fans.

Nothing wrong with him seeing a therapist a lot of professional athletes have personal therapists or mindset coaches. It’s completely normal I’m glad he went.

Yeah. It’s called “ignorance”.

Same as many stigmas associated with race, ethnicity, gender, etc. throughout history.
Nothing wrong with seeking therapy. Plenty wrong with publicizing it for secondary gain and affirmation. I see it EVERY day in my job. There’s nothing ignorant about tgat opinion. In fact, I’d suggest the opposite it the truth in regards to secondary gain.
