Ray LaMontagne - Empty

He's Otis Redding meets Ben Harper with a dash of Joe C0cker. Glad he's finally getting some mainstream attention, this music generation needs someone like him.

This lyric "Outside, the rain is tapping on the leaves, to me it sounds like they're applauding us, the quiet love we've made" is sick.

Lupe Fiasco - Letting Go

Lupe has always been someone I've been on the ropes with. Something about him always seemed lacking. Great lyricist, but didn't pack a punch, I suppose. Not anymore- this album is greatness.

Kind of fascinated you say that, as I found the album to be terribly uneven at best, lethargic and far too pop-driven at worst.

I'm a dwindling hip-hop fan these days, but I thought The Cool was superb.

I think the added pop sound really helped Lupe's monotone style. He's a great lyricist, but his delivery has always been a bit... boring.
