Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

But that’s my point... the same can be said for any of the WRs on our team. They CAN be good IF....... Campbell and Pittman amassed an amazing 571 yards last season. What is the indicator they will be anything other than just another guy? Why do some posters automatically assume the Colts are fine but think we stink?

Understand what I’m saying?
You're all over the place with this. I think Campbell and Pittman ARE good. The only "IF" is health, which is the same "if" for any player in NFL. All things equal, I actually like the potential of Campbell and Pittman more than Reynolds and Fitzpatrick (or Reynolds and whoever our 3 ends up being). Thankfully AJ is trumps rests.

I'm not saying the Colts will be better than the Titans (they might be). I'm just debating your "waaaaay better" comment. I don't think they're as bad as you make it seem. Keep in mind Philly won the SB with Alshon Jeffrey, Nelson Agholor, and Torrey Smith.

There are no facts to assume those Colts players will be better than their Titan counterparts because the stats show the Titans players have been better. AJB is WAAAAY better than anything the Colts have and Reynolds is better than everyone except maybe Hilton, maybe. Campbell is a compete and total nobody.

Expect a massive decline in AJB and Henry's play this coming season if the roster remains this way. Nobody on our offense besides Brown and Henry demand any type of attention from the defense.

We are so thin at WR anyone think evans could see significant time there? Or strictly a third down back?
I'm really beginning to think that the team has confidence in Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.

I think that's a mistake, but I'm really starting to believe all the hype they gave for him after the season wasn't just fluff.

So, just a reminder, who was it we lost on offense that is going to completely change the direction of our offense? Corey Davis?

Corey Davis, Jonnu Smith, Dennis Kelly, and Arthur Smith. I'm not even counting Adam Humphries.

It's not going to change the direction of the office but will definitely limit it more.

Yeah, but we have already replaced CD with someone of the same caliber. We have Firsker* to step in for Jonnu and gives about the same production. We MIGHT take a very small step back with Kelly, but I dont think it will be very noticeable. As far as Arthur Smith goes, I am willing to say he did a good job. But when you have Henry and a qb playing at the level Tannehill has been playing, I am pretty sure most OCs would do a good job. It is also hard not to say there we quite a few games when the play calling was down right questionable.

Man you love some overreaction posts. Teams have been stacking the box on us for years and Henry just ran for 2k. I wish you would step back from the ledge my friend.

Adam Humphries barely even saw the field. Firkser had as many catches and yards as Jonnu Smith did. Dennis Kelly was average on his best day.

I wonder if they'd consider coming up with a few plays and putting Farley in at WR? If he truly ran in the 4.2's and played WR when first getting to college, that could be a cool change of pace to show opposing defenses a different look. Of course, Vrabel and Co. would never consider it.

Not sure why you would say Vrabel would never consider it. The guy has us throwing to tackles, running trick plays, and taking advantage of loopholes constantly. He is not opposed to trying stuff like this at all.

We tried it with Adoree Jackson...they may wait to see if his back is good but I could see it

I hope you're right about Reynolds but I wouldn't call him the same caliber, certainly not yet. Same for Firsker replacing Jonnu. Not the same. Plus they were both on the team. Let's say Firsker does replace Jonnu's production, which I think he can, who replaces Firsker's 39 catches? Swaim? How many snaps did they Jonnu and Firk both get?

Well see about the OC but thinking this offense isn't poised to step back is a level of optimism I'm envious of.

Don't get me wrong, I would love for them to try this. I just think to Vrabel, there is a difference in throwing the ball to an OT who is already on the field, than taking a player from defense and putting him on the field for an offensive play. Being a defensive minded coach, he's not going to want Farley to take time away from learning/practicing with the defense, especially being a rookie.
