A trade down with the Jets would be ideal...they have pick 4 and 10 so they may want to load up on another 1st if someone falls to 26 they like
Wouldn’t a new contract for Brown do the same thing? Rather than draft his replacement a year early, just remove the need by keeping him.

There are always ways to massage the cap. We could reign him to an extension that would not be a cap hit this year, but kick in next year. Like Mahommes did.
Maybe not currently but with a 5th year option pick up, they should have another full offseason to work a contract.
Brown was a 2nd round pick we wont have 5th year option. We will with Simmons soon

2nd round picks don't get the luxury of 5th year option.
Which explains why we're restructuring larger contracts like Byard -- money to set aside for extensions (because I really do not forsee us throwing any blank checks at Free Agents, especially since the first round of Free Agency is in the books.)
