Watched two films this weekend.

Victor Frankenstein - which was a perfect example of having all the parts available to make something really cool, but utterly blowing it in favor of selling popcorn.

This is a good cast, and they obviously had a supreme art dept but to choose to take these revered, established, gothic characters and dumb them down to this level is simply pathetic. Everyone is a wire-fu action character now I guess - even Ygor and Dr. Frankenstein. Stupid plot. Stupid dialog and so on..
A total disgrace...

Z is For Zacharia - a pleasant rebuke to the previous night's Hollywood atrocity. Dramatic take on a world killed by radioactive poisoning and the three people last people alive, who find their separate ways to the one remaining safe spot, high in the hills. Two men vie for the interests of the sole female.
Not a thriller but soft steady tension throughout. Leaves a few question marks but forces the viewer to sort a few minor things out.
Slow but good..

Just watched "In the Heart of the Sea". Thought it was excellent, Right up my alley though. Seeing those men in their lil boats chasing the biggest animals in the world was something special, and it really went down like that. Amazing! I thought the movie brought that home.

Interesting.

Wondering how this goes since Spider-man was anti-registration with Captain America in the comics... think so, anyway.

Ignore the comic when it comes to this movie. They're all about advancing the MCU, not trying to make an overrated story arc more accurate on the big screen.

He starts out with Stark till he realises what a twit he is.
Strange in this MCU...Stark starts out as neutral/good character alignment and goes lawful/chaotic while Cappy starts out lawful/good and turns chaotic/good.
First Stark distrusts the government and learns to respect them after screwing up repeatedly while Cappy starts out respecting them and learns to distrust them after being screwed over enough times.
I'm interested to see how everyone aligns in the climax.

I watched Cold Mountain last night. Watching Jude Law play a Confederate Solider, accent included, was amazing. By the time the movie was ending, if I could of killed the leader of the deserter hunting group and that blonde headed snowflake following him by turning the TV off I would of. Renee Zelwegger's performance was excellent as well. A++ for the naked Nicole Kidman!

I dunno...I find him to be the most relatable. I'd like to feel all patriotic and believe in truth and justice but the "superiors" just keep on disappointing us. Cap is, IMO, a tragic figure more than a hero.
