WS is run of the mill action. Still very tv-movie'esque in most ways.

But yeah, it's due to the first Captain America being so painful. I think people weren't expecting much and were surprised that it was at least decent.

That's what I've heard... It's one of those movies I'll watch if it's ever on TV/Netflix.

After seeing Deadpool, I'm slightly more interested in Marvel stuff. But that was completely different from any other Marvel movie, obviously.

For sure. If you want a different tone like that, maybe check out Daredevil. You wouldn't think it's in the same universe as the Avengers.

So this past weekend I watched 1 new movie and 1 older classic:

In The Heart Of The Sea - Loved it! Very well done!

Office Space - Yes, it has taken this long for me watch it even though people have been using quotes from this movie forever. I'll remember now to put the right cover page on those TPS reports. Movie was really funny.

You just now saw Office Space??? Holy sh*t.

Better late than never.

I finally got around to watching Primer. I enjoyed it but it didn't quite live up to all the hype for me. It is funny, most of the reviews I've read talking about how "smart" and "clever" it is also mention that it is confusing as hell and how they had to do a lot of reading after the movie. And even then there is still some stuff that isn't fully explained. I actually like when a movie leaves me wanting to do some further research but there is a point where it is too much and I feel like the movie should've done a better job in the storytelling department. That's kind of where I land with Primer.

That said, this thing was made for $7,000 so all things considered this was still an impressive movie. It's worth checking out if you've got Netflix.

Obviously its not everyones cup of tea but.....Risen was a very good movie. Despite it being about the search for Jesus, it didnt feel like a religious movie at all.

Plus, for those who do believe, the scenes where Jesus does appear shows him in a new light. A side few people think of when they think of Jesus. (If youre not a believer, these scenes probably wont phase you )

Worth seeing

Watching it now...really good so far. All from Adam's perspective. The story starts from the time he becomes concious, with the blank mind of a newborn child. You can't help but to sympathize with him, much more so than with DeNiro's Adam. Couple of minor nits but overall roughly a 7/10.

Just finished "Electric Boogaloo", a documentary about Monahem Golan and Cannon films..the company that brought you dozens and dozens of stinking action turds featuring Charles Bronson, Chuck Norris, lots and lots of naked chicks, excessive violence and Superman IV. It made me realize that my father was an even stupider redneck than I ever thought he was. I mean, I generally pick lowbrow material myself for philosophical reasons but I DO have standards...
