One thing I do not want to do is take a WR in the 1st who has no potential to be a #1 caliber guy. Just because we already have a #1 in AJ doesn't mean we need to draft another Kendall Wright. In other words if Dotson and Pickens are the choices take Pickens. Otherwise wait and take a WR later in the draft. When Julio leaves Pickens steps into that role nicely.

Also some a number of mock drafts having us taking the LB out of GA. I guess they don't know we drafted another good LB out of GA last year. IMO never draft interior line or inside LBs in the first round. Some analysis also talk about how we desperately need a CB. Hmmmmm

By no means a need, but Jordan Davis DT from UGA ran a 4.78 at 340, 1.68 10 yard split. Would definitely add something when we are in a base 3-4 look, but that's rate enough to not be worth it.

Insane for someone his size. His stock skyrocketed this weekend, therefore there's way no he would fall to us. Had a hard time believing he would fall to us had he not posted those numbers.

The speed of this class is just insane at nearly every position. WR, CB, RB, hell even the big fellas are putting up insane numbers.

I thought Jordan Davis had bust written all over him, but he totally transformed his body since the season. He was playing at 365 or 370 and got down to the 340 for the combine. And the way he talked, it was like a light switch was flipped. Like he just discovered that eating better will make you perform better. If he keeps that up, he'll be a player that we didn't see at Georgia.

I try to not change my mind on a player due to the combine, but I've changed on him.

Jordan Davis seems like one of the safest picks in the draft. At the very least, he should eat up space and stop the run. But he also has the upside of Haynesworth as a pass rusher.

I agree. Might be hard to pass up a guy like that no matter who else is on the board.

Plus, even if we lost Landry we could still have a front four of Autry, Dupree, Simmons and Davis and look for some edge specialists later in the draft. Guys that size and explosive are rare.

As for my comments on WR I wasn't focusing on Pickens but more so on that style of player. Olave, Burks are others I'd prefer. Christian Watson might even be worth a look. Besides Pickens only played in 8 games in 2020 and 4 games in 2021. His production was down because of an injury and Covid. His combo of speed, body control and catch radius with quality hands is darn good.

Don't forget Weaver. Too bad we didn't get to see him outside of pre-season last year. Looked like we stole a good one at the time.

Ideally, tag Landry, trade him for a 2nd, and sign a vet like Ingram to replace him. Then you have more flexibility in the first round.

Johnson is a good fit. He plays mean and he's versatile. He played LT and LG at BC and the played in the triple option at Davidson.

I've seen Zion Johnson G Boston College mentioned...he was Vrabel's son's roommate so that makes sense too lol

Problem is, he is likely a 1st round pick. Certainly would not expect him to last past the first 10-15 picks in the 2nd round. So we will either have to spend a 1st rounder on a G or we will have to trade into the 2nd round (I wouldn't be opposed to that necessarily).

I've seen him go to Dallas at 23...he may not make it to 26 anyway

Whelp, can pretty much write off Edge as an option in round 1. Probably IDL as well.

Looking more and more like another 1st round OL pick, if we don't trade back. LB a possibility as well.

Saw where we met with Metchie. I imagine we might be looking to move up to get him. Doubt he lasts to pick 90. This might be another draft where if we can't trade back, we will just trade up and only have 4-5 picks the entire draft.
