Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

I guess I got to this thread a little late, and there's not much left to be said. But anyone who understands the absolute chaos this team was in last year, and understands that NO TEAM, regardless of how good their players are will win when all types of behavior are tolerated, should understand why Fisher has to stop this crap in it's tracks.

Young or not...these guys are vying for a spot in the NFL...A chance to be something most of us could only dream about, and a pay check most of us can't imagine. They need to learn about the discipline it take to get there.

I think Fisher should call the guy into his office, chew his butt out really good and then CUT him!!
Less than 12 hours after he tells guys to stay out of trouble, he drives after drinking....just plain STUPID....sounds to me like he was wasted (slurred speech, smelled of beer), I might wait until a conviction for DUI or whatever legal stuff there is but if the guys gets convicted, he gets cut in my book.

If I were to get convicted of a DUI, DWI, whatever, it is a felony and I would lose my Physical Therapy license....conviction of a felony is grounds to lose my license....so in a sense, if I get a DUI, I would get fired...

A simple first offense DUI, like Finnegan is charged with, is NOT a felony.

Given the timing, it is however incredibly stupid. How much of this would you put up with if you had to make the call?

The day after, the next month, 11 months later....the time should change the punishment? No. Being a 7th rounder should change nothing either.

If this is Vince Young, and he did this say after this season, should he be cut? I wouldn't cut him, nor this guy. I think we got some kneejerk reactions here.

I'm not sure if One Strike and you're out should apply. It is a difficult situation. And to be honest, if VY or KVB or Billy Volek did it, I couldn't cut them...On the other hand I doubt you'll see any of those guys do it...They have better sense..I hope...

But somethings got to be done...a rookie who hasn't even won a spot on the team yet...he doesn't get too many chances.

you can bash firefighters and police officers all you want....

I"m not bashing anyone.

I just gave an example that everyone is human. So be careful what group you pick to call hero's, because every group is made up of humans who do stupid things.

Read back what I posted, it starts with "Careful". No where did I bash firefighters or police.
There are good athletes and bad ones. Same as firefighters and police, good and bad.

DUI is always stupid, no matter what time.

What call would I make? I'd fine him, but I wouldn't cut him for it.

bottomline is that most are the true hero's of this country
The key word there is most.
Same thing I was saying with my post, which you mistakenly took as bashing firefighters.

Most, but not all.

Not this time. But we're not talking about how a guidance counselor tries to help a troubled child. We're talking about professional Football.

One reading of the riot act, a fine, and an understanding that this will be the last time. And that would go for everyone...

Even TO:brow:

Sounds like you're saying you'd give preferential treatment. And any guy could do it, a star, a rookie 7th rounder, a kicker, doesn't matter.
