That sucks for Akers...they still have Henderson who played well but no depth really behind him

Maybe they sign a vet?
Duke Johnson
Adrian Peterson
L Bell...doubt anyone wants to sign him though

I think Bell would be a smart move—I could see him reinvent himself in that offense and setting.

Someone they like could also get cut soon. Royce Freeman or somebody like that.

AP does have familiarity with Stafford.
I could see them also making a trade for someone like Melvin Gordon. He's on his last year of his contract, and Denver has already drafted his replacement.

The Rams would get a solid player on a one year deal so they can pick right back up with Cam next year.

Replacing a RB is one of the easiest things to do. Not that Akers isn't a big loss but a good GM and scouting department should be able to find someone who is cut to step in and help.

Had no idea replacing Henry would be easy. I feel better knowing that though. Just poking the bear, I know what you meant.

It can be easy to replace if you're willing to trade or sign someone, but not every RB is good. Just look at the years we trotted out Bishop Sankey and Antonio Andrews.

Yea that RB from Western Kentucky was so good he was our starting RB.

JRob could find someone off the streets better than Sankey and Andrews wasn't horrible. If Henry were to go down for a long period we have Evans and Hill (both better than Sankey or Andrews) and while they would not replace Henry's production they could easily provide enough with our OL and passing game to still compete at a high level. Both Evans and Hill are good out of the backfield so we could augment our running game with short passes to the RBs.

I cannot believe that Michael Thomas lays out most of last year with ankle injury then waits till June to have surgery on it. Now he will miss several weeks into the season. Some guys when they get paid they are just done!

Likely one of those things where the doctor told him he could likely rehab and heal in about the same amount of time as a surgery/rehab would take. Probably knew there would be a chance it wouldn't work out, but surgeries don't always go perfectly either. Players have that happen all the time where they just rehab in the offseason and don't have surgery. We don't hear about it because there wasn't a procedure.

But then it didn't heal quite as well as they were hoping and he ended up having to have surgery anyways.

It's hard to say all that about Evans when none of us have seen him play in the NFL with the exception of a couple of plays where he did look good. Still not enough tape on him to see what he can or can't do.
