Lack of CAP is exactly what’s wrong with baseball. You have half MLB teams and half professional farm systems, teams just buy a World Series roster every year (the ones that can afford/willing to spend).

I honestly think NFL makes more than enough profit to extend the CAP by tons, but maybe set a positional cap?
Luxury tax if you exceed the cap and 1 player salary does not count against the cap.

I like the 1 player not counting idea, teams maybe designate by a certain date.

The luxury tax idea hasn’t really worked for basketball. Been a few years, but Miami just accepted the hit for 2-3 years with championship visits each year. I like the hard cap.

Miami made a “win now” move when they’re not at all ready to win now.
Maybe they are ready to win? They have a good defense. Maybe Tua ready to surprise us with Tyreek, Mike Giseke, Devante Parker, Cedric Wilson and RBs chase edmonds and Mosert. Also, they just signed an All Pro left Tackle.

They're as ready as can be. Their mindset was like ours when we gave the world and got everything for Tammy but he failed 3x in 3 consecutive playoffs. He's the weak link.

The Rams just bought and traded for a Super Bowl win. Many teams are trying to copy that now (CLE, MIA, LV, LAC). Are the days of building a winner through the draft behind us now?

My biggest reason why I didn’t want to see the rams win. Need a different outcome over the next year to prevent that from becoming regular. If it’s normal, might as well kiss the NFL goodbye, its gonna turn into the s**t product the NBA puts out year after year.

I think it depends on where you are at as a franchise. IMO, the Dolphins are dumb because they lack talent at the most important position: QB. It doesn't matter who your WRs are if you're QB can't get them the ball consistently. I will say though, Tua throws a very accurate deep ball. So having burners on both sides and Gesicki at TE means that teams won't be able play man coverage very often against them.

To be fair to Tua the Dolphins had a bad OL his first two years. Probably more important than the Hill trade is them signing Armstead. I heard they are in on JC Trettor as well.

Tua has no reaon to fail and if he does the Dolphins can get a vet next season. Theyve had so many draft picks recently they can afford to send picks away next season if needed

it aint over with yet.

The Washington Post's Mark Maske reports a grand jury in Brazoria, Texas is considering charges against Deshaun Watson.

This would be totally Browns. Alienate your current QB (who is pretty decent to be honest). Trade away 3 first round picks to finally get a franchise QB. Then he gets arrested and jailed for sexual assault.

So glad the Titans were not among the teams with any interest. I would feel dirty rooting for that guy. Shame. I used to like Watson a lot.

Regardless, there would have to be some pretty damning evidence to charge him, imo. Even if they do, he'll have a team of lawyers as his disposal.

Seahawks are taking calls about potential trade offers for DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockette apparently, could be interesting. I wonder how much it would take to get one of them

We've made our upgrade at WR. I really doubt we're gonna bring in an expensive WR while we gotta pay Brown. But it's nice to dream about AJ and Metcalf teaming up again.

Seahawks really blowing everything up. Surprised Carroll is still around. Didn't figure he would want to be part of a rebuild as a HC.
