His price literally couldn’t be higher right now. I’m pretty sure we’ll franchise him for now and see how he does next year. Still a big 1 year pay raise for the man.
If you franchise him this year then you risk losing him the next because I’m sure he’d be disappointed at not getting a deal done after all he’s done for the team. IMO there shouldn’t be any issues with re-signing him for the next 4 years or so, it’s the deal after that I would give some pause to.

No one thinks he can be replaced...go back and read the actual argument. He can’t be replaced. The question is whether spending 15 mill on the position is actually worth it or can the net value be better achieved spending the money in other places. If you think it can’t be then make that argument...but don’t set up straw men the no one here are really arguing.

Henry IS the offense. Yeah, tanny and brown and Smith are all great... But it all flows through the threat of the tractor. Without him, the play action doesn't work. Our line is more exposed to pass protection.
This fan for one is much less enthusiastic about next season without him.

Win? Lose? The question was never will we sign Henry, it was should we. I think it is like we will sign him at this point. Maybe a long term deal or maybe a tag. But who is right and wrong here won’t be known for a while. Only time will tell.
I get it, and that is why we probably will sign him. We are in a tough spot. There is a lot of evidence that says you don’t put that kind of money into the RB position. But maybe Henry transcends that as many here think. I am very curious as to how it will play out and what we will do.
I will say the offense can change and evolve. Everyone likes what we see now, and if we move on from Henry will we have an effective offense? That uncertainty is scary. But we certainly could. I am not big on fear of losing what you currently have keeping you from making the wise long term choice. In a way it is like a college football team that loses a great head coach and has the choice to hire a coordinator to keep continuity or getting a new good head coach and losing continuity. Usually the latter is the better way to go even if it means a short term loss.
But as some have argued maybe we have the money and can sign Henry and lose nothing long term—if that is right then sure, sign him. But I have a strong suspicion it is not.

Put it in perspective some, we paid Mariota over 50mil for 5 years and 1 playoff win that he had a hand in.
How much have we paid Henry for his 4 years and 2 playoff wins, one that he had a hand in, and one he was the superstar of the game?
If we end up paying Henry 50mil for the next 4 years, that will put his total around 56mil for 8 years and bare minimum of 2 playoff wins he was a part of winning.
Maybe in other areas of your life, but we all know you are wrong more often than not when it comes to the Titans.

Sure...but we already have those playoff wins for cheap. I don’t want to pay more for them. I am only interested in how he effects future play off wins and what those will cost.
No, we didnt get it for cheap because we have a 20mil player on the roster right now who isnt doing 1/10th of what Henry is doing. We paid the wrong person. Now we should fix that and pay the right person. Consider it a little back pay for what he has already done for the team.
