Yeah I just read 90 million total. Can't remember what guaranteed.
Hope we don't try to match that.

Denver just offered Manning 60 million guaranteed over 2 years.
Source? I don't believe that. Not for a second.
no way.
That's what Denver sources are saying. I'm finding it hard to believe that there's someone sending out that kind of information in the middle of the meeting with Manning.

Another NFL source indicated that all involved teams are comfortable working off Manning's previous contract with the Indianapolis Colts, which was five years for $90 million, or an average of $18 million per year.
Additionally, Manning was to receive $61.8 million through the first two years.
Both the Broncos and Tennessee Titans are working off the contract.
Denver "sources" have been talking pure jibberish for the past week though...
so I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Nowhere in that does it say the Broncos just offered him that. It says thats the deal they are working off of.
do we even have cap room to give 60 million for 2 years?
No way.
Honestly I'm about to just close my laptop and forget about this thing. If something happens it happens, if not at least I cut my losses and didn't waste any more of my time.
We're not NEAR as desperate as the Broncos... I hope we know that.
Hard to say someone like that is not worth it with the potential success he could provide.
But in our situation, with a promising star in Locker, and the potential that could cause him to go away if we were to match that, I would pass if we had to offer the same contract.

LOL at Denver..
I don't usually pay too much attention to the money end, but that is preposterous money.
See ya in the funny papers Peyton..

Is Manning's agent even in Raleigh? This all sounds made up to me....
This week has given me a glimpse of just how unreliable today's media is. Bunch of guess work..

Manning asked Harbaugh:
"Does this mean if I am a Niner I can play against Fisher twice a year again?" :brow:

I'm not willing to pay $61M to any player over two seasons.
However, I like to think he'd accept a deal similar to the one with the Colts, averaging $18M a year, never making more than $22M in a single season. Sounds reasonable to me.

edit: nevermind, sorry, you're right

Some clarification on the money:

This is the money Peyton wants. Apparantly TN and Den are already in that ballpark..
