Hard to say it’s a bad signing at this point when he was hurt part of the season and we switched quarterbacks mid season.
being hurt part of the season is one of the reasons it was a bad signing..

take a look at Chandler Parson's last 5 or 6 years.... getting hurt is a bad thing for the team.

Lenwhale was gone already having eaten 2-3 McDonald’s and sucking the year before.
We were in full Javon ringer mode when Blount was cut.

Not gonna lie, lot of promise I add in ringer too. His lack of fumbles per carry was a huge positive and he did well at Mich St. unfortunately, just not fumbling the ball and getting injured a lot I said not enough to really win any carries. Bring in 4th round “steal” Jamie Harper.
Ewww, i forgot Bout him. I wish I could forget about sankey....

Humphries is going to have to step it up. All that money isnt going to cut it. Probably one of the worst FA signing from Jon Robinson.

JRob, as is his tendency, overpaid Hump

Just as he did with Butler, Kline, Saffold, Lewis

People at the time said "Who cares" but if you add up the money saved if these guys were paid more in line with their ability (other than Kline) and we would not have had to cheap out at CB this year.

The cap matters, as much as people want to pretend it doesn't.

Ringer, ugh

Another training camp superstar. Titans coaches love those guys.

I don't disagree, but you pretty much have to overpay to get free agents.

This board is way better than it was several years ago, but people would give their free agency wish list and it would be some CB they are going to sign them for like 2 years, $8 million. Then that player would sign for something like 5 years, $50 million somewhere else. And then we'd cry about how we wouldn't go get good players.

I don’t think it necessarily “who cares” as much as if we don’t pay them, someone else will and we can’t just keep accepting lesser talent because of cost.

He does not throw out numbers to get guys. He pays what he thinks he has to for players he thinks we need. Would you rather we paid half as much for other players who are not even worth that?

And who do you think are some properly valued free agent pick ups from other teams? You need to remember this is still the Titans. You need to fork over money to get talent here, especially when JRob first started. I bet you'll find a lot more contacts that you would consider "over paid" than bargains.

That's just how the NFL works. You get underpaid players in the draft and have to overpay in free agency.

Humphries is not overpaid. The Patriots offered him MORE money than what we signed him for. So you can consider that value. We paid less than market price. It is unfortunate he got hurt and we had super inconsistent QB play.

That’s the beauty of fans...ticked off if we lose a FA - “the FO didn’t even try.” Or mad because we outbid someone and now we “over paid.” I guess people forget how bad the roster was prior to JR. Sometimes you have to open the wallet and sometimes that works great and sometimes not.

Back to Mason, it’s also amusing how we both “crown” and “doom” players before they ever play a down. Every single year.

I dont agree with the Saffold, Kline. I think those were pretty good picks ups. Butler... is ehh but hes still better than what we had at that time...

Hump to me is the biggest bust so far. Lewis too.

Kline???? He was terrible. That’s why he was cut. Should never have been signed except our roster was so bad we ended some bad picks looked good. Re-signing Kline to a decent size contract the year before we cut him was dumb. One of JR’s few bad misses.

There was no reason Kline should have gone into the season penciled in as the starter. Just like Nate Davis should not go into the season penciled in as the starter.

It's really frustrating to see JRob make the same mistakes over and over, especially at the same position.

I think Davis should be given a shot. I think he can still improve (which he did throughout last season) and there’s only so many positions that can be truly upgraded in one off season.
JR picked a few holes that may not have been addressed if a Guard was taken to replace Davis.

I think he was thinking of kelly but that was a trade. A epic trade tbh.

He should absolutely be given a shot to compete for the starting RG spot. He should not be the only guy on the roster with a chance to win it.

Kline was a good pick up. They overpaid though when he was re-signed.

We are not the Bengals or Browns,

The organization is no less a trainwreck than most NFL organizations. And people like Nashville, it is a desirable place to live.

You’re right. It’s the Titans. Even less marketable than Cleveland and with a mediocre fan base. Sorry dude, you have to pay to acquire talent.

Again though, what free agent contracts across the league do you think are fair or good value for top players?? How does that compare to players you consider “overpaid”.

This is real life. It doesn’t work like Madden.

I think the players pretty universally love Nashville and Vrabel and the team is good enough to want to come in and make a difference.

...but you generally "overpay" just by the nature of free agency.
