Whoever they bring in I hope vrabel allows them to create a new offensive scheme, and do away with the just run Henry philosophy
Amazing that Vrabel lamented about the lack of speed on offense (and he is correct for the most part), but he and his coaching staff showed little effort to get players like Chig and Hilliard involved in the offense. For example, they ran a few plays with Hilliard and Henry on the field at the same time early in the year with some success, and then abandoned it pretty quickly. Hilliard also only had 22 carries on the season. Pathetic.
Fun fact, Hilliard led the team in receiving TD's this season with 4.

not so fun fact.... like 4 or 5 Titan kickers have been signed to multi year contracts with other NFL teams after robinson released them to favor succup who he released then to favor fatrandy who robinson extendedNeed to bring in a kicker or 6 til they find one that can make it beyond 40 yards.
soooo... typical robinsonHilliard was a bright spot, but was injured much of the season.

Yes...they can be blocked from interviewing with another team if it's a lateral move.“Letting them”?
Did not know that. Makes sense then except that if they’re accepting a lateral move or less, McVay must be rough.Yes...they can be blocked from interviewing with another team if it's a lateral move.
"Teams were previously able to block assistants from interviewing for positions that could be deemed "lateral moves," and assistant-to-coordinator transitions previously fell under that umbrella. NFL teams are not allowed to prohibit assistants from interviewing for head coaching positions.Did not know that. Coordinators will still not be allowed to leave their team for another NFL coordinator position without seeking permission."
But yeah, I'm sure there's not a lot of cases where an assistant leaves for another team without being fired.
I can see that specifically as it mentions assistant moving to OC/DC/STC being under the same umbrella."Teams were previously able to block assistants from interviewing for positions that could be deemed "lateral moves," and assistant-to-coordinator transitions previously fell under that umbrella. To me, any of those are a step up from a positional coach or assistant.
Well the article I quoted was about the rule change. Now position coach/assistant to coordinator IS considered a step up and they can't be blocked from interviewing.I can see that specifically as it mentions assistant moving to OC/DC/STC being under the same umbrella.

I find it interesting that when the season ended, all kinds of names flew out concerning GM candidates. Not a peep on the OC side. This tells me they most likely only looking internally again. Obviously I could be wrong. They have a lot on their plate right now with so many assistant positions open.

I feel like it will be Kelly..... some candidates might be in the playoffs and not willing to interview at this time
I think Vrable will put some serious thought in this signing. IF he picks wrong and the OC isn’t good it would likely be his butt that gets fired.
They have had several weeks to consider the GM position and likely had that list built prior to the firing. Not so sure the same can be said for the OC position.
I will be very disappointed if they dont seriously look outside the org for a candidate.
