I think both of them get 3 year deals with options for 4th.i would expect us to draft a qb for the future at some point in the next couple years. As for a back up next year. I would love McCarron.

Totally agree with that....McCarron has shown me that he would be a very good long term backup....and occasional starter.

In fairness, isn’t Reese the guy who destroyed the titans in 04’ due to his poor management of contracts?

Different times right? He was going for it. He also was the GM of the most successful period in Titans history. Back then it was much easier to get into salary cap hell. Most teams did the same, or let their stars walk.

I have not seen many rumors other than that the Eagles are interested in Logan Ryan

I guess he sort of went for it.
I mean 99-00’ were a bunch of young players with very few under big contracts. 02’ lost afc championship.
03’ divisional round,
04’-06’ a major down fall resulting in his removal and a complete mess of a franchise that really has only recovered in the past couple years.

He also helped in the McNair saga that was about the messiest departure from a team I’ve ever seen.

I don’t blame him for the VY pick, that was likely all Bud, but contributed to the huge downfall.

I guess it’s also kind of sad that the best times for the titans is a 4/5 run.

But he also chose McNair, George, Kearse, Haynesworth, Bullock, Hope, Mawea, Fisk, and so many others I mean really? Maybe give him credit for recognizing talent. Best times of the franchise were under him. There is NO doubt of that.

Look I know he also had his misses but if given the choice between Fisher as coach and Floyd as GM what would you choose now?

At least your posts work if your shoutbox posts won’t

Never discredited his drafting abilities or even FA pickups. The contracts is where he went wrong which is why I posted to begin with.
It was a comment based on how Reese would sign certain players (Henry, Conk, or THill. Probably a combo)
His end here in Tennessee is a glaring reason to second guess anything he says regarding contract management for the team.

From my understanding, towards the end of his time here, it was Bud Adams who was forcing Reese to do some of those things. He started meddling where he didn't belong. Also Fisher was doing the same thing. There was a power struggle which Fisher eventually won

That could very well be the case. The only real obvious one to me was the VY draft pick.
