Is it lack of time playing together? Poor scheme? Or has the line regressed that much? Only time I saw anything positive was in the no huddle offense. I really hope this doesn’t lead to drafting more 1st round tackles!

Considering Lewan, Davis and Lamm hardly played at all in the pre-season it is highly possible when you mix that with playing against a talented group we looked real bad. Add in that the OC took didn't take that into consideration and you have a recipe for disaster.

Lewan is coming off an ACL, with little practice going against maybe the best pass rusher in the NFL.....

The left side of that line is going to look entirely different in 2022. They're drastically overpaid for what they're bringing to the table. Lewan has checked out after collecting his payday and Saffold is hit or miss. If Raddunz develops and proves capable of starting as an interior lineman I wouldn't be surprised if the Titans move on from both Saffold and Lewan in 2022 and kick Nate Davis or Raddunz over to the left side. Lewan's cap hit is minimal and at this point he needs to go, did anyone even notice he was out yesterday? A UDFA proved more than capable of filling in for that overpaid bum. If the Titans cut loose Saffold and Lewan in 2022 before the deadline they will account for 4 million of dead cap between the two of them opening up 23 million and it looks more and more likely by the day.

Yep. Lewan and saffold are likely cap casualties Byard could play his way out as well.
Ya Lewan is gone, this is probably going to be the last year for his career I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire if released. Hes never going to sniff the money we paid him again, that alone is the reason I think he retires.

Byard played well yesterday but ya with his price tag and lackluster play hes on the hot seat for sure. Also with Hooker and Cruickshank playing well hes someone we could afford to lose.

Man - WTF Henry runs for one hundred and fifty plus for the day and Tannehill thows for 347. Yeah the O-line could be better but everyone take a breath. Not as bad as everyone thinks.

Byard play isn’t lackluster. I really think some of you don’t even watch the games.

Totally agree with everything you say here.

The comments are not about them being bad…they are about the guys that are hurt and not playing being in their last season because we don’t need them. And it will save a ton of cap space.

Was Lewan's injury to the same knee he hurt and had surgery on last year? I never saw anything specific about it, just that he got hurt in warm ups.

I guess we just forget about last year, he didn't look to hot against AZ either. But he played pretty good yesterday.
I dont know.. if you were listening to the commentators during the AZ game, they kept complimenting Byard and contributing good plays made due to Byard.

Last year he was asked to do something that isn’t his job. The entire defense was out of position. So yes.. we forget about last year. Even if he was good. This year.. I keep saying it. I’m not sure what freaking game some of you are watching or if you just see 38 or 30 points and say he didn’t play well. He actually had a very good game against Arizona. Did Bobby Wagner have a horrible day yesterday because BDH went for 182 and THill went for 360? Nope… he had a great day. But his team lost.

I’m just not sure what you are watching.

Why does everyone use that as an excuse for Byard. Just because your put into a different scheme doesn't mean you forget the basics for playing Defense. Last year he missed tackles, took poor pursuit angles, was late coming up to defend the run, looked lost in coverage, and got beat multiple times defending the pass. So I guess he can only play correctly if he's back and not up close to the LOS. Stupid.

Wagner played a great game, he made the tackles and plays he should of made.

Yeah, you do forget about last year. The minute the season ended it had no bearing on this season. If you are going to base current performance off past seasons, then take the total career and do it.
