While true that is starting to change. I am kind of shocked it took this long. If I was a coach and every team plays the best pass blocker on the left I put mine on the right. Obviously some guys can't do that like switching tackles or corners. But it is something that is not obvious that fpr some reason was not even when I was in middle school during the early 2000s.

you certainly do see teams moving their pass rushers around more these days to try to get the best match ups possible.... Given that 100% of starting QBs in the NFL are right handed (until Tua starts)...it is harder for the QB to see guys coming from the left.

I don't understand why teams don't situationally rotate their OL. So now we have Wilson that is our road grader and Kelly who is better than Wilson at pass protecting at this point.....So on 3rd and short sub Kelly out and put in Wilson...on 3rd and long make sure Kelly is in the game...

Have u ever tried playing OL?

It is very difficult to master one side then the other.

Look at Dennis Kelly. Pretty solid on the right, a nightmare on the left. Hell, he cant even figure out RG let alone LT.

You start moving those guys around and your oline will break down fast.

I'm not moving positions....I'm saying that you sub out Wilson and Kelly at RT depending on the situation...if you know it is short yardage and their is an 80% chance you are going to run it then put in your better run blocker...you can still play action off of it and it might actually make it better because the defense thinks that it is more likely that we will run it because we have our run blocking RT in...by doing something different than other it at least forces them to consider one more piece of information regarding our personnel....teams have guys who radio down the type of personnel on the field and usually that is just based on skill position players...why not add another thing they might have to start paying attention to

Hmm that seems odd. On the top 50 highest paid players there are only 2 CBs, but there are several OTs. But looking at this year's FA list, it does look like CBs pulled better than OTs. Guess I'll rethink that one

Yeah it is a bit surprising since CB don't normally make the headlines for the huge deals they sign, but I think the OT position is more top heavy and CB is more balanced from a salary standpoint.

At the end of the day, this pic evens out....most wanted Fulton in the first, we got him in the second. That said if we switch draft order Wilson is a hit picking at 60. Wilson jumps off the boards....he was 17th ranked player out of high school, performance was at a high level at Georgia playing against tough competition....you can't teach how to be 6 foot 6 360 pounds of enormous strength. He's a run blocker, we're a running team. He enjoys beating up players, we're a physical team. At the end of the day this pic is a hit! Also we picked him a year early, Wilson played 2 seasons at Georgia....his pass blocking improved big time over 2 years. That said I'm sure the titans management took that into account. Where he is after 2 season, compared to other OL playing 3 years and in the draft.

Yeah I mean at the end of the day JRob has only had 1 awful pick as GM. Kevin Dodd and that was before he got his guys into the scouting department too.

He's done a great job of getting players who contribute. We may not have landed stars in the 1st round yet, but all of our 1st round picks are contributing starters to our team. That's not something we have been able to say in years past.

I trust Jon Robinson and his talent evaluation abilities. He's proven that he knows how to get guys who can help us win. Isaiah Wilson has the tools to be a very good player. There were a lot of people on here who said the same thing about Conklin as they did Wilson.. look how that turned out. He's only 21 years old too.

That is a terrible idea outside of maybe goal line situations. Or maybe forth and 1.
That puts us back where we were with the runnings backs last year. And tanny boots to the right most of the time. So you want him 2 boot to the side where the guy sucks at moving fast? Not buying it. You wana bring him in at rt and move kelly to the extra oline spot in a package that could work very well though

I hate everything about this pick. Way to use our 1st round pick to not make the team better.
Run blocking Mauler.

He is excellent in pass coverage but needs help reading double blocks. Could have used another year but high ceiling RT to keep our OLine stout.

1st round talent. If he went back to GA he probably would be a top 10 pick like andrew Thomas.

Saw this guy in a recent interview, he really seems like a leader. Mike Keith was asking the top 3 picks a variety of questions and he took the lead with Fulton and Evans falling in line and agreeing on everything.

Good sign

We are not playing a 6'7 guy at guard.

Edit: i take that back. They may but with the zone scheme the movement for a guard seems hard for him. If we were still man then I could see it. But it is still a possibility.

You usually want to put your top 5 OL as starters. And Kelly is better than Davis.

6'7" at G is not unheard of. Kevin Gogan was a very good guard for his career at that height. Zach Piller is close to 6'7". Jon Ogden is 6'8" and he spent his first year at Guard.

I understand that but half a dozen at best guys in 100 years is not normal.
