Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

Not saying I disagree, I don’t think we should trade up to draft a QB, but every year people say there is a ton of QBs “next year”. When next year comes, people say that crop is crap and wait until the “next year”.
Including this year when talking last year. Suddenly someone suggested trading up to #1 for this class.

If it matters, I dont for a second believe the tweet, the titans haven’t offered for #1, there aren’t 2 teams that have (or at least not only 2 teams or legit offers), or that Texans or colts haven’t inquired.

I don't mind the idea of a young, stud QB. However, I would rather trade up to about 7 or 8 and grab someone like Levis than sell the farm for Young or Stroud at #1. Based on their current QB situation, I believe that the Niners are going to be in desperate need of a veteran QB and could be interested in trading for Tanny.

I think people were talking like 3-4 weeks ago that the titans should trade back and take Levis.

Something happened to the grade.

I’m a Kentucky fan. Watched Levis every game. He has an incredible arm but throws it full velocity every pass. He also refused to play in Kentucky’s bowl game because he didn’t want to get hurt. Then turned around and wouldn’t play in the Senior Bowl for the same reason. Made me question his character. What does it say about you when you turn your back on your team and your school in the biggest game of the season? Needs to be a rule. These players are getting scholarships and paid now. Shouldn’t be able to just sit out for your own self interest. Sports in general are heading in a very bad direction. No one is going to watch a bunch of men just trying to get as rich as possible. When the love of the game goes, so goes the sport. That’s why these “pay the man” type fans are so ignorant.

I truly don’t know regarding Levis. Great points that make me wonder even more how his grade went from later first round to even a suggestion of having to trade up for him.

my only reasoning is how so many people, (specifically fans but must be organizations too) are so into the theory that everything rides on a QB, that undeserving guys move up in the draft. Seems to happen every year and rarely pays off. The strategy has a low success rate but some teams keep trying it over and over.

Tannehill had Dennis Daley as his LT, a terrible line in general, a terrible group of WR’s, and Todd Downing calling the plays. Let’s give me the man a chance instead of trading away all our future capital for an unknown.

Any **** hot running backs to pair with Henry. Run game is easier to fix via o line. Plus give us the 1 2 punch and can be a progressive phase till next year where we can invest heavily in wr group etc. Plus Derrick ain't getting any younger.
Tyjae Spears Tulane. He will be in the senior bowl at 2:30 today on NFL network. He is a stud and would be perfect compliment to Henry

If we go oline and take a T. We can trade down and get one. I do not see top 15 tackle in this class but I do see several good mid to late first rounders.

I watched Levis too, and I just do not see the production to put him ahead of Stroud or Young.

What blows me away is these draft experts saying Richardson from UF is top 10 pick! What on earth did he do to get drafted? Great athlete big arm but cannot hit broad side of a barn

Yeah, they said Willis was too last year and we know better.

Wait are you suggesting we use #11 on a running back?

Improving the run game is imperative this year i think. Which will also inadvertently will help the passing game. Next year look at signing a big name wr and finding a QB. Realistically we cant turn into a passing team with all the holes to fill so we gotta play into what our strongest unit is. Resign tanny for 3 years 30mil a year 50 guaranteed. Pay guaranteed money over 2 years gives us some breathing room on oline for some hires and game manager behind center.

If there is a christian mccaffrey, le'veon Bell(pre hold out) type of RB yea. Henry is Henry and the guy is Hofer and touch wood he doesnt miss a beat but he's not getting any younger. Derrick with a mccaffrey level rb in tandem will ease his load and create more chances in the pass game. I've loved our running style as much as anyone for the past 4-5 years but we're likely not gonna get a rb like Henry ever again. Drafting for next year is the best mantra I'm led to believe

Doesn't matter if Barry Sanders is there. You don't use a first on an RB.
