Vrabel is doing the Belichek Pats thing.

playing the long game, keeping his older proven vets healthy and protected, only using when and as needed. And we WILL need Julio and AJ if we have any shot to go all the way.
I’m a little concerned he may have pulled them early if that’s his line of thinking. This game was still in doubt when Jones was “pulled” for whatever reason.

On the bright side, good to see these other WR showing some talent. Rogers and Westbrook-ikhine showed off something. Would like to see Pruitt keep getting opportunities too.

I think we're beginning to see a trend here. With the NFL expanding the regular season and the length of the playoffs, teams are going to rest their impact guys when they can — especially when they're not 100%.

It stinks for fans who don't get to see a HoF WR but, as long as the Titans remain up by 10+, I don't blame Vrabel a bit.

That seems to be the case. Which is why I was against expanding the season and the playoffs.

And I agree, I think Vrabel makes the right move here.

It will be interesting to see what happens next week. Honor Landry and Simmons played 100 and 95 percent of defensive snaps respectfully. That is a lot for their position.

Makes sense as I think about it. We were up by 2 scores for a good bit of the second half. We were going to be running the ball a good bit, why waste his talent and reps on him out there run blocking when other guys were doing just fine at that.

Sucked being at the game to not see him in on critical downs as we drove to get that last FG, but I'd rather have him later in the season than a game we had mostly handled.

Right. And Henry is getting too many touches, IMO. We don't need Henry with 400+ carries/receptions come the playoffs. He's averaging 31 touches so far which is 527 touches in a 17-game season.

McNichols is showing some promise so hopefully he can take just a few of those touches and I’m good with earlier in the game since Henry is a bulldozer late, more so when they have the lead.

They will use Henry when they really need him. Big game and they needed him the last two weeks for 4 qts. Maybe next week they can throttle him down a bit.

I noticed they had Sargent active and deactivated Blasingame with Carter playing FB. Maybe they get Sargent more involved as well running the ball next week if we can get a lead and not have to ride Henry as much.

Ya'll might buy that mularkey but not me. 2 scores in the NFL can be knocked off the board in a matter of minutes.

You aren’t buying that Julio got hurt and Vrabel held him out to avoid serious injury? Lol

Guess Lewan also didn’t tweak his knee last week and was held out for precautionary reasons.

Henry is our leading rusher and receiver. Not worried about him wearing out though. History says he will break, but he's breaking down History. He's different.

Simple. You put Julio (or whoever) back in if it happens.

There's a risk tied to every decision a head coach makes.
I think the NFL does have rhythms in game. You pull a guy because you feel the lead is safe, to find out it’s not and throw a guy back in that wasn’t expecting to go back in seems to go against rhythm.
I’d rather just play it safe with a guy in the game, play design can be an added safety net too.

It's not like we did the week before or anything.

Yea I don't buy it. Either he's hiding an injury or JJ was in the dog house for something.

On that note, did anyone see AJ limping? He took the carry and it looked like he was called to the sideline and he jogged off fine. Didn't see the field again. Anyone at the game see him stretching or getting worked on?

Nah, but hammies are serious. Took nearly a year for me back in the day. Felt fine, go hard, NOPE! It may be a few weeks! Look what happened with Jazz player Mike Conley, similar injury, kept nursing and trying… in the end couldn’t go when needed! Just saying.
