Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

The NXT takeover on Saturday night might be the weakest one in a long time. The roster has been depleted from past call up's and have not build up enough new stars. The tag and women's divisions are really hurting.
I've never got into NXT. I've heard the takeovers with charlotte and banks and ko and sami were pretty good.

Most of the night went as expected. The Club take the tag belts, babyface women go over in 6-man tag, Nia continues to dominate, Neville wins the 205 belt, Charlotte wins, and the Rumble match went as expected. There was 3 moments that surprised me:
1) KO retains his belt over Reigns
2) Cena wins the belt vs Styles for his 16th title reign (tying the number of Ric Flair reigns recognized by WWE)
3) Cena vs Styles stole the show, and was one of the better matches Cena has had in a long time

I never thought it'd be Angle, but I do think he'll come back for 1 more match. Wouldn't be surprised to see him vs AJ Styles one more time, they've had some classic matches.

I thought for sure that 30 would be HHH or Samoa Joe. I thought it'd be HHH and he'd make the final 2, then Seth would "break into the building" and cause him to be eliminated, which would've set them up for WrestleMania.

How I'd book the Universal Championship going into WrestleMania:
  • Goldberg over KO at Fast Lane to become the champion, after Jericho botched his attempt to get involved and cost KO the belt.
  • KO blames Jericho for messing up and costing him the Universal Championship
  • KO vs Jericho at WresteMania for the US Championship
  • Goldberg drops the belt to Brock at WrestleMania
Now, Brock and Heyman can say "Goldberg beat Brock twice ... yea, but Brock won when it really mattered. Brock won when the championship was on the line."

Goldberg vs Brock for the Universial title ... negative 5 star match. lol

Not even exaggerating, there was a grand total of 16 moves done in the match, and only 4 different moves performed in the entire match. This is literally the match:
German suplex, German suplex, German suplex, spear, spear, spear, spear, jackhammer, german suplex, german suplex, german suplex, german suplex, german suplex, german suplex, F5.

El Gigante vs Yokozuna would've had a more entertaining match, and had a better moveset on display.

What made that spot worse was that JBL felt it necessary to over explain what happened on the spot 30 seconds after it was over.

"Guys, I think Reigns was trying to reverse the Tombstone Piledriver and hit a Tombstone of his own there, and Taker was able to fight his way out of it."

Pretty sad can you imagine the heat if reigns hits him w a tombstone lol everyone was already booing

Hopefully the WWE will let him run as a heel. It's how they got Taker, Rock, Austin, etc over. Why keep pretending like he isn't getting boo'd out of every arena? lol

I dunno, judging from Raw, it's happening. Fans chanted obscenities at him for 13 minutes to kickoff raw. He literally stood silent in the ring for over 13 minutes, said one line taunting the fans, them walked out. Hahaha

Nakamura vs AJ!!!!!!!
I don't understand the Nakamura debut. He takes an entire segment to go to the ring, doesn't say a word, doesn't wrestle, don't do a thing ... fade to commercial ... fade back in to Ambrose vs Corbin?

I bet we get robbed of Nakamura vs AJ, though ... I'm betting the "Superstar Shakeup" moves AJ to Raw to get some fueds going with Reigns and Samoa Joe, and I bet that they set up AJ vs Kurt one last time for Angle's final match.
