Since they are hack fraud director/producers,
Red Letter or Michael Dougherty?
Don't even pay attention to RLM but I am a big fan of Dougherty.

Red Letter.
You might enjoy the last 3 minutes of
Red Letter Media Half in the Bag: Evil Dead :
You might enjoy the whole thing but the last 3 minutes is like a evil dead sketch. I thought they did a funny job with it.
I just got out of Cap America 3 and I have to say that Winter Soldier beats this movie as well, but it was good overall.

I think Winter Soldier is still my favorite but I do think Civil War was better. This was a really tough film to make and they nailed it. That film tore me apart the whole time trying to figure out who to pull for and the reasoning for fighting wasn't fake or a cheap plot device. That's what happens when you have a whole set of movies before having these characters fight each other, unlike, umm...BvS.
The VVitch finally was available to stream this past week.
Perfectly creepy from front to back.
I loved it, but I know this wasn't a consensus w horror friends.
A lot of elements of The Crucible here but I'm a huge fan of that as well.
Another film that essentially requires subtitles to get 100% of the dialogue - which is hugely important to this movie. I can imagine that was a huge detraction for folks who saw this in the theater.

Wife and I saw it in the theater and didn't have any problems with dialogue. I can say this is one of the most remarkable films I've seen in the past few years. The more I think about it, the more I like it and the more there is to think about. I really need to watch it again. It's definitely not your typical horror flick. The evil is so deeply woven into the story of the characters that you forget there is a witch. Bonus (for me) are the theological themes it addresses. Superb storytelling! The VVitch finally was available to stream this past week.

They definitely hit all the Arthur Miller Salem obsessions in this one. I can think of few horror movies where they cover 'signing the devil's book' - and none as unnerving as this one.
Thomasin's scene frightening the younger sister was a tasty bit.
I was reminded of one of the few times Winona Rider forged a similar scene as Abigail ( love this bit of dialogue):
" And mark this. Let either of you breathe a word, or the edge of a word, about the other things, and I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and I will bring a pointy reckoning that will shudder you. And you know I can do it; I saw Indians smash my dear parents' heads on the pillow next to mine, and I have seen some reddish work done at night, and I will make you wish you had never seen the sun go down!"
And I think that's mostly what was amiss with the on screen dialogue - as this film squarely relied on that same poetry. Missing even a word or two (and there was definitely some stuff completely inaudible onscreen) took away from it.

The revenant would've been great if only Leo could act
I thought it was a bit like Passion of the Christ...... Watching someone suffer for two hours. Would have lime it if they showed more of the back story too instead of focusing so much on Leo rolling around on the ground in pain.

I liked it quite a bit. I really don't think Leo is a great actor. Every time Leo shows emotion or anger it's all via shouting.
Tom hardy was fantastic. A lot of the side characters weren't great as far as actors either. Definitely well produced though

Tom Hardy was excellent. So was that kid. And production was great.
I just thought they could have done more to build the story. Like starting with the expedition starting point rather than just skipping so quickly to the bear attack.
Tom Hardy is effen great in everything. Probably my favorite actor out there right now. And dem traps....Tom Hardy was excellent. So was that kid. And production was great.
I loved it. But I will admit it was kinda more of an "experience" type film than it was necessarily a great/groundbreaking story.I just thought they could have done more to build the story. Like starting with the expedition starting point rather than just skipping so quickly to the bear attack.

Fair enough.
I am a history fan so I like seeing more setting. And know the Hugh Glass story and that of moubtainmen in general I was hoping for more on that.

Tom hardy will always be shinzon from Remus to me

LOL he's barely recognizable in that one. I'd say he's come a ways as an actor since then. Total sumb*tch in The Revenant

Yea I hated him so much in Revenant. Such a good actor. His role in Inception is my favorite so far.
I watched Fantastic Four re-boot/re-make/re-whatever today. I watched it because of the massive negative ratings and the controversy over the director and and the reshoots in the film. The director is the same guy that did Chronicle which I loved.
Such an odd movie and you can tell obviously where it must've fallen apart during filming. The first half or maybe third of the movie I really enjoyed. Took the science fairly seriously and was really pretty interesting... but once they get their powers the whole thing falls apart, including an "1 year later" almost immediately after they get their powers. And wow oh wow did Dr Doom and the Thing look dumb as hell. Like 90s sci-fi channel friday night movie bad.

Keanu kinda disappointed me. A handful of funny moments for me but the rest fell kinda flat. I was still entertained but wish I just waited for Redbox. At least I went on $5 Tuesdays.
Closet superhero fan. Did you wear your tights when you watched it?I watched Fantastic Four re-boot/re-make/re-whatever today.
