Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

RT has done a great job in his 1.5 years as a starter. AFC championship game and a Division Title. Its been over 10+ years since we been doing those types of things. I would stick with RT. We got to keep building. Next year our goals need to be clinch the division and conference. We got a few years left to win the big one. We got to keep fighting. Our year is coming.

When Henry doesn't have success running the ball on first down, the offense falls apart. The Titans OL isn't a great pass blocking unit and when it is 2nd and 8-10, teams can come right at the Titans on offense.
I would think a coach would try something different when our line couldn't make any holes for him. This makeshift line did well against lesser teams but seemed to struggle all season against most of the eventual playoff teams.
The off line also don't slow down pass rushers much. When they did, Tanny did well, usually.
I think all our team needs next year is better guys on both lines, one more tight end that can catch, better corners and safeties.
Kern should probably stay.
We also need coordinaters.
Of course, most of this will not happen.

What is the deal with 4th and 2? I've been seeing it brought up constantly. I can't remember an egregious decision from Vrabel during the game, so I'm curious what I'm missing.

I DVRed the game, but I will never watch that again.

people are pissed about his decision to punt instead of going for it earlier in the 4th quarter.... It is what it is. If we didn't punt, and our offense didn't get the 2 yards they would crucify him for that decision as well.

Do y’all think given their star players over the years and today’s display of unsportsmanlike thug behavior, that the Ravens could be the trashiest sports franchise to ever exist?

Ahh. Ok. I do remember that sequence.

I think on a normal day we probably do go for it. Most games we pick up 2 yards pretty easily. Today was not that day.

now what was the Q??

punted on 4th and 2 from like the 40 with like 10 left in 4Q.. netted like 20 yards on punt....

most feel Vrable should have gone for it there

even more so most felt with third and 2 DH22 should have been given the rock twice if necessary

So should we stomp on their logo next time we play them at their place? I would love to see us win next year at Baltimore to keep the trend going and get in a fight or something while stomping on theirs!

ESPN posted a stat that 75/76 coaches have gone for it in similar situations over the past 4 years. We're the only team that didn't. We needed a touchdown and didn't have a lot to gain from punting (still ended up giving up a fg).

I’m not saying he’s elite, but I can’t really pin the bulk of this loss on him.

never said Tannehill cost us the game, he played alright, my point was today’s game should end any more debates about if he’s an elite QB or not (since there has been numerous debates about it on this forum). Ravens were committed to not letting Henry beat them and dared Tannehill to beat them and he looked very average.

Nah, with Baltimore trying to milk the clock and how easily Lamar can seal the game with his feet, that was almost a must go-for it in that situation and field position. It wasn’t even the punt that was just baffling. It was the play call on third down. 3rd and 2 and with the field position you have, you’re looking at 4 down situation, why not run it with Henry? At worst, the chances of him falling forward for at least one yard are very high, which brings up a very favorable QB sneak situation, something Tannehill and our line are very successful at.
