Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

Just like Santos, Succup was not a rookie kicker he was an already established pro bowl kicker prior to coming to Tenn and he was good for years with Tenn. He didnt just get good after leaving here and we didn’t ruin him. He got hurt. I have no idea why he wasn’t brought back.

Santis was horrible for the 5 games he was here. Joseph was here 2 games. Never tried a FG. Made 9 xrtra points.

The original point was all these kickers are horrible here and go on to succeed, like they hadn’t had it before Not serviceable not solid, but successful. Both Santos and Succup were successful long before they came to the Titans, not just after.

Like I’ve said before, the players we have been drafting and signing have been bad. JRob was fired for that. For the lack of talent on the roster. Lack of depth. If you want to blame Vrabel fine. But complaining about a kicker who has the 2nd best FG% in the NFL this season and blaming him for the Titans not being in the playoffs and whining about a lost 2025 7th round draft pick is insane. There are a long list of reasons the Titans are going to the playoffs. Folk may be on that list but he is at the very bottom. We needed a kicker. We got a kicker. A good one. Some FA who missed half his FGs is what we have had. The 7th round pick is insignificant. Any argument to the contrary is futile.
I don’t really know what you’re arguing at this point.
Succop got hurt early in the year 19’, he was kicking 1/6 FG. Succeeded very much in TB afterwards.
Santos was terrible in Nashville, caught on and is kicking well in Chicago.
Santoso was brought in as a KO specialist, gave 2-3 s**ty KO. Only had a couple games after, perfect in 1 game with Carolina, 2/3 with Det

Parkey actually did well in Nashville and was still shown the door, he did ok in Cle.
Joseph was perfect. Actually 18/18 XP counting post season and only called on for 1 FG. Not sure why he was shown the door.

brought in Gostkowski who was terrible and rolled to Fat Randy who was meh.

from what I see, Vrabel/JRob combo don’t know anything about Kickers.
Ran had 2 K doing well in preseason but I guess not well enough, needed to use that 7th.
Not an issue with me since Folk has been good despite the missed XP.
Badgley is 6/6 xp in Detroit
York didn’t catch on anywhere.
To me, this is the first sign of progress on Kickers since 2018.

Succop, Joseph, Santos
All serviceable to solid K after leaving TN, titans opted for 70% gostkowski then Fat Randy.

makes you wonder if Vrabel had some say in getting Gostkowski?
Do you remember those times; when we were using injured Succop, Joseph, and Santos? I do not want to go back to those times. Folk is way down the list of people responsible for any losses.

I’m good with Folk. Even said that.

I do wonder why Joseph wasn’t given the job.
He was perfect, including playoffs, and clearly has done well since.

Yeah, I don’t know what the coaches saw/didn’t see, but I never wanted to believe in him because I knew as soon as I did, he would let me down. Just like all the other kickers in that era. Man, it sucks to be a Titan fan most of the time.

So then we don’t ruin kickers?

He is 5 of 6 from over 50. Stop it. You look foolish.

It’s not weird at all. Kickers don’t all get good after they leave the Titans. Who got good? What kickers did we ruin?

What’s really weird is this new obsession with Nick Folk.

Why do you hate this franchise so much?

Santos hasn’t been good his whole career. He kicked for KC, LA, TB and Chi before the Titans and wasn’t very good.
I dig this franchise we just do dumb shit lol

Not a fact. 2025 7th round pick. No way of knowing who or what they would draft

But history tells us, and these are actual facts, that a 7th round drafted player won’t make the team or stay with the team and contribute for any appreciable time. This is an actual fact.
the ACTUAL fact is that the Titans could have drafted ANY UDFA with a 7th round pick... any of them... and they will not have the chance cause they decided to punt on both kickers that went thru TC and waste draft capital on a greybeard Kicker.

anything else is just inability to accept such waste

coping rubbish

should have just went with one of the rookies ... no reason to be folks retirement gig

remember that time the Titans wasted a draft pick on an ancient patriot K instead of rolling with a strong legged rookie K?

GoT remembers

It takes a lot to make me do my own research but I'm sick of this nonsense

Sacks allowed

W1 - 4
W2 - 5
W3 - 5
W4 - 3
W5 - 1
W6 - 6
W7 - 2
W8 - 4
W9 - 4
W10 - 2
W11 - 1
W12 - 6
W13 - 1
W14 - 7
W15 - 6

3.6 sacks/game, so 4

And we still trot out the same garbage in the same spots

How are you going to have 3 games with 6+ sacks and not do anything about it
another 6 this week

last 4 games
6
1
7
6

lol

TM, you do realize that a 7th round draft pick is the leading candidate for MVP this year, right?

Sure… I know who Brick Purdy is. Point? Are all 7th rounders MVPs? If Purdy gets it, Has there ever been one before ? The % is not good for 7th rounders. They rarely stick.

We needed a consistent kicker. We got one by trading for him using a low cost draft pick.

You do realize Folk has the current and ongoing NFL record for FGs inside 40. 78 in a row. 78! We didn’t get a scrub.

Titans wasted a draft pick... had 2 Ks thru TC and punted them for a weak legged greybeard Xpatriot
