Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

As I have stated before this is BS. The Titans before last draft had selected 1 Guard on the 1st round. ONE Now 2. He’ll, they’ve only taken 5 O linemen in the 1st round.

Guard in the 1st round isn’t what the Titans do.
Check your math. When you draft a tackle in the first round who doesn't make it through training camp that counts as drafting five first round guards.

Thanks for posting. I think this kind of confirms arm length being a difference. It may not be as big a difference at the college level which is why Ski could succeed there.

I agree with the sentiment about trying him at T but I’m also concerned that moving him out of G leaves a weak G with a weak C. I’d argue the risk of a T being weak, while really bad for the QB, MAY not be as bad as a C/G combo as bad as the T play. That pressure should be straight up the gut every play.

It sounds like he is ok at G...I'd rather draft a "true" LT if that makes sense. The end result is the OL needs attention for Levis' sake and get this offense going.

A joke?

Not a chance. Top 5 pick on a center?

I don’t think a center has ever been drafted in the top 10.

Not happening.
Pretty accurate guess, did look it up.
1968, #2 overall, Bob Johnson for the Bengals.

In 30 years, earliest was #17 in 1999, Damien Woody.

however, titans need a C. Haven’t combed the prospects for who is projected best C and where they’re expected to go, but this would be a prime example of get the guy you want regardless of draft placement. If titans believe the top C won’t be available at their 2nd round pick, you gotta take him.
Of course try to trade down and in this case, Titans need more than a C, so taking the T is really the right choice. They do still need to address C.

The Titans need a foundation LT way more than a C. They should go offensive weapon before C. You don’t draft Cs in the 1st round really.

make sure and do those combine interviews

You just don’t.

You can’t be serious. You would take a C before say Brock Bowers?
That’s not what I said.
I said that I think a C is a bigger concern than another offensive weapon.
I also stated I don’t care how/ when they address the C.

if they get one in FA before the draft, super.
If they spend a first on a T, then have options afterwards, C is a bigger priority to fill than OW. If they still get a C in the draft after a weapon, I won’t be mad, but if they pass entirely on C for an OW, Ran should be fired.
