I feel confident- nay, absolutely CERTAIN- that nobody has said you cannot discuss other tv shows in this thread. I also feel confident- nay, absolutely CERTAIN- that you have insisted that others should not discuss their shows in this thread.

The way I see it is simply like this: Is it a tv show? If so, then in belongs here.

As for the check-cutting for cable part, in this day of streaming devices, for under $13 you can see all the same material rather than spending upwards of $80 for the right to be manhandled by a company and an industry that ranks lower on customer satisfaction than the IRS, all for the right to be able to discuss it around the water cooler the next morning. Unless of course it's a SH show.

Lastly, ALL pop culture is, by definition, trendy.

Your comment about cable content proves you're simply out of touch with the final domain of excellence in dramatic entertainment.
And just because you've decided that those of us willing to "cut that check" have no lives, means we shouldn't expect be able to discuss TV of a different ilk than The CW ?
Yes, this is a football forum first and foremost - but this forum also has an entire section designated for TV/Movies. A section a few folks including you and I visit pretty much on a daily basis.
Given that, why would it be surprising someone would bring up separate TV threads to accommodate folks who like superhero shows and separately folks who like stuff that isn't?
And you ask why what discussion should I expect? Welp considering that 4 or 5 people have separately brought up The Leftovers (of course not knowing it had been mentioned previously then buried by pages of superhero stuff) maybe we'll talk about The Leftovers - or even have continuing seasonal discussion like we once did before the trendy superhero culture took over..

Holy cow this is bizarre.

Look...this is a forum made up mostly of young male sports fans. Television is mostly made up of reality shows, talent competitions and teenage vampire soft porn along with a couple of SH shows. Then there's cable content, which people with lives don't bother to write a check for. Seriously, what discussion would you expect there to be here? If this were the GoKnit macrame forum or the GoVacuum home economics forum I'm sure there would be a wider variety of shows and show subjects but this is GoTitans football forum.

So what you are trying to say is that titans forum fans are too poor to afford cable?

Decided to start the X-Files instead of Leftovers. So, this show doesn't really age that well. For anyone else who has seen it, what's the best stretch of the series?
I started watching it for the first time ever a few months back. Definitely did not age well. In fact I thought it flat out sucked. I gave up halfway through the 2nd season.

From what Id heard s2 and 3 are some of the best and I was not impressed with s2 one bit so I threw in the towel.

Flash was once again pretty good tonight
also was the blue fire coming out of Stein setting up Deathstorm?
I'd say it was easily the best of the season so far.

I gotta admit though, I dont find myself looking forward to Flash or Arrow nearly as much as I used to. Gotham I'm still loving though.

nothing like X-Files had been on TV before.

I would say check out the early season 4 episode called 'Home'. Its stand alone but messed up and just wrong.

The time warp one where Mulder & Scully are on the ship is also awesome. Later in the series.

I would also suggest anyting with The Lone Gunmen. Those guys were great

Also my memory is the show got better as it went along.

Home seems to be the unanimous best episode of the series. I should probably check it out. The series overall is pretty bad IMO though. Im sure it was much better at the time it first aired.

Arrow is getting so, so ridiculous. The Damian Dark character is keeping me interested though. I still say they need to ax a main character or two as they just have way too many "heros" at this point. Show was at its best when it was just Oliver, Diggle and Felicity working together.

oh yeah.

1993 TV .... Cheers, Seinfeld, America Funny Video, Murphy Brown & the Medicine WOman show

X files was 'out there'

Plus no interwebs, well nothing like today, so some of those concepts were brand new to people

Get rid of the females.

Thanks for revising my argument to suite your response, Mr. Trump.

I never questioned what can and cannot be done here.
I have NEVER insisted that anyone talk or not talk about a subject in a specific
thread.
I am very proud of you for deciding that a TV show belongs in the TV show thread. Gold star for you.

Cheaper options aside - do you stand by your comment that people who choose to pay for cable have no life? The rest of the jazz you wrote is not relevant.

So now there is an issue with calling the superhero trend a trend? What is the secret word we are supposed to use? Pancake?
Ok, we once talked regularly about other series before the superhero pancake.
Happy?
