I just don't think much of Murray but he gets the job done so I've kept my feelings on him pretty quiet, but Henry gets me excited about 2016, this kid is on another level with some of the stuff he put on tape. Murray for a 4th and some money was a good move tho, not gonna get a RB like him in the 4th.

Sankey and McCluster have to be gone now tho right?
Andrews and Cobb have already filled out applications at Subway.

Sankey, McCluster and Andrews...probably but I think they give Cobb a shot to get healthy and go into the season with at least 3 backs... gonna laugh my tail off if we draft Keith Marshall too

Handy if we needed a rb

After I got over the shock of this pick, considering the other areas of need, it's not as much as a head scratcher as I initially felt. The reality is DeMarco was a shell of his Dallas form last year in Philadelphia and we have no way of knowing if he will regain form. However, trading for him was a no brainer because...it's DeMarco and the Titans gave up very little to acquire him considering he took a pay cut in a restructured deal and a swap of 4th round picks.

So lets say we rolled with just our current RBs without drafting Henry, who straps up if DeMarco continues his slump in TN or worse gets hurt? My take-a-way from this draft is the Titans didn't just go after guys whom they felt are starters. The team have been saying for a few years now the depth on the team is really really bad. Personally I think this draft was about also addressing the depth at certain positions. I personally think Andrews is at least serviceable, but the facts are the RB position group definitely needed an upgrade. Yes the Titans needed to upgrade the WRs and CBs on this team, but keep in mind they've signed a good number of secondary guys to the team in FA. Were there any CBs available with that last pick in the 2nd that could definitely out play the existing guys on our roster? I'm not going to pretend to know that answer. What I do know though is Henry may or may not be capable of outplaying DeMarco, but he DEFINITELY should be capable of out playing EVERYONE else at that position group. So when you look at it that way it's really not such a head scratcher. However, admittedly I was baffled by the pick. Still not sure I like it, but I can accept it.

Other posters talk about having hope for this team. I actually have hope. Honestly, I want the Titans to become a winner again and I have hope that the current people calling the shots are trying to get to just that. That is evident by the amount of changes that have occurred on the team in just 2 months! Are their changes good, bad, or capable of moving this team forward??? Well only time will tell. My take away from the last two months is that the front office may have just overturned almost 20% of the 53 players that dress to play on Sunday between the draft and FA. Lets not kid ourselves folks that's a HUGE change and this new team should look totally different on the field than years past. They really can't get any worse, but hopefully they show some progress and SOON!

I'm really glad we spent the #2 pick last year on the best hander-offer money can buy.

Thought your post was funny so I gave it an LOL....

But keep in mind Big Ben and Russel Wilson won their 1st SB handing the ball off to dominant rushing attacks while enjoying stout defenses. That's the formula the team is trying to recreate. Who knows maybe we can find a Sherman or a Antonio Brown the 3rd day of this draft lol...Highly improbably, but still possible. One can only hope. :-/

I was shocked as well since we had other needs, but he was there and they couldn't pass on him at that pick.

Plus, let's not forget Murray is injury prone. Our backfield went from Andrews, Sankey, Dmc to Henry and Murray........that's a whole 360.

Our OL was upgraded as well with Conklin and Jones......we should be able to own more of the clock now keeping our defense fresh. Our defense broke down last year and gave up big plays late in games as they were on the field way too much.

Agreed...that's partly why a lot of my focus has been on the total change the team have undergone. I mean really you think about it...the influx of players and roster turn over by itself is actually quite impressive.

Exactly.....between free agency and the draft we improved in a lot of areas. J Rob still got our OT and plenty of extra picks......if you look at it WE got Henry for free and still got a 1st rounder next year. I really like Rishard Mathews and he will do well.....DGB needs to explode this year.

I'm just gonna laugh when I read the responses on here when we get torched by our division rivals through the air this year.

Our secondary gave up 34 passing TDs last year, that's third worst in that category. To throw salt on the wound, 5 of those TDs were from the Jags in one game. ONE GAME....against the JAGS. You should be upset.

In comparison we ranked 25th in rushing yards last year. Ok that's a problem, which we addressed already in free agency when we traded for the best available, proven RB Demarco Murray.

I hope the pick works out. While his workload last year worries me, I don't think he will be asked to do a ton this year and there is nothing wrong with having a capable backup.

If they don't think Murray can touch the football 30 times a game, why pay his price tag?

No way you take Henry in the second and make him a situational RB.

I must be missing something.

I thought I read something that Murray accepted a restructured deal. One where it was pretty much a glorified one year contract when its said in done because the team can opt out without much penalty against the cap after this upcoming season. PK had it on ESPN when the trade first accord. Wish I had the link to it...so I guess my thing is the risk/reward factor is the reason for the trade to begin with. Also Murray is how old now? How many RBs not named Adrian keep their form this late into their career especially after having a year where the load was as high as Murray's?

Almost every team in the league uses 2 back or 3 back game plans. The days of relying on 1 serviceable back are over. Murray was the only legit back on the roster. Now they have 2, like every other team in the league.

I hope DGB really does well this year. I'm not so sure I'm sold on him though. Would have loved to go after a top flight talent in the draft this year. But the WRs were a tad underwhelming this year as a whole. I'd be shocked if that's not a big focus going into next year's draft. Would be really shocked if one of the 2 1st aren't spent on a WR. You simply have to pair Mariota with a true #1 option. I said this before but when you look at Winston he throws to VJ and Mike Evans, Bortles the Allen Brothers, Stafford had Megatron, Luck has TJ and had Marvin, Carr has Cooper, Red Riffle has AJ, Big Ben has Brown, etc.. The list just goes on and on. QBs who take that next step in their careers have at least one go to guy. Mariota needs to have that. Walker is probably going to start a downward slump soon more than likely so getting Mariota that outside help has to be a priority in the near future.

I'm not a college football fan so I really look at this from an impartial view but the problem is you got the exact same kind of back that we already have in Murray….a one cut down the hill runner. Why not take a scat back in the 6th round for a back up like the kid out of Georgia and take a safety or corner with that pick?

Probably because our OL haven't been that good in recent past. They can barely run block for a single RB...now you want them to run block for two RBs with different styles lol...I'm making fun of the situation but IMO until our OL gets better at least doing ANYTHING consistently well I'd say you keep the changes to a minimal. So I'm fine having two of the same RB more or less.

If our running game is bad after investing 3 top 10 picks into it I'm gonna puke!
