Lol if you think my posts are "dogging" Henry you should not venture further into the internet
it appears that way...yet the kid hasn't even stepped on the field...Relax...give it time. Easy to be negative right now and I get it....but everyone has their own opinion etc...At least this year, they didn't reach. Watch him play, then judge him. Nobody here is some F ing professional

Yeah cause heaven forbid someone question a professional gm. I mean who could've possibly done better than Ruston Webster?

I challenge you to find an actual negative comment I made about Henry as a player.

...The difference is...Henry actually sees the holes to run through.

"I'll make a cash money bet with anyone on this forum that Henry is NOT the 2nd best rookie rb this season.

Put up or shut up"

I take that as negative...Already doubting is abilities....maybe you are right...but you are guessing like the rest of us....So like I said...watch him on the NFL field first. As for the RB's left..I get your point about value and taking someone that was left later...but clearly they didn't fit the "Smashmouth" workhorse ideals that they wanted..Right or wrong. Can't fault them for taking a guy that has the stats and numbers to back it when they had so many picks, and you only have 1 starting quality back on the roster.....

I think DH will do okay after he acclimates to the NFL game a little.

But I'm still struggling with the pick when specialists like Su'a Cravens and Dieon Jones were still on the board at 45.

If he ran a 5.0 40 yard, I don't think his size would matter too much. It depends on a players other assets. I agree, he will steamroll some linebackers.

It still matters though.

Imagine a 5.0 guy with DMC size trying to do anything.

Obviously JUST size or JUST speed won't make a player great. Gotta have a combination.

Bingo....Dude runs 4.45-4.55 at that size....Lightning fast compared to anyone on our roster...Even faster than Sankey etc...

Actually... he's slower than Sankey.

BUT he is bigger. Because that's what apparently matters.

lol @ someone saying he's going to steamroll LBs.

Being big doesn't automatically make you some physical back. He avoids contact more than he tries to punish anyone. There's a reason you can't find a clip of him bulldozing any college DBs even... just not in his arsenal.

How good have they been since they started drafting "big fast" guys?

... even worse than the Titans.

It doesn't work if they have no nose for the game.

Al always did that...try again. But I agree about your second point if by "nose for the game" you mean football players instead of "projects".

Right. And I don't think Henry is a "project". I think he is what he is.

He'll get whatever is there, but nothing else. If we took him in the 4th-5th round it'd be less painful. I'd be fine with it.

But with all the issues we have. With the players left on the board... we took a back that'll average about 3.8 YPC in the NFL.

Just doesn't sit well.

I will say that he accelerates pretty damn fast for his size. He actually outruns a lot of dudes. But he isn't the punishing runner some make him out to be given his size.

Would Jerome Bettis have been a good back if not for his size?

Would Chris Johnson have been a good back if not for his speed?

So somehow combining the 2 traits is a negative?

It won't necessarily make you a great player ... but it certainly will help
