Jesus...easy on me guys lol. I do agree there are some good ones...but Lacy had his weight issues, Inghram took some time, and Yeldon is a question mark even though he had a descent year. T rich was hands down the worst...Still is. I think Henry will be nasty personally, If we give him the space. I'm looking forward to our run game for the first time in forever. I just pray our line can do the job. I liked the Henry pick then, and now.

Henry has enough size to be a decent Tight End if it turns out he can't cut it from behind the QB. He reportedly runs decent routes, has good hands and he blocks well.
And we have Delanie to mentor him.

RB turned TE huh.. Has that ever been done at the pro level?

We saw a DE turned TE blow up in our faces. Then we saw a TE try to say he was a WR, but RB ---> TE would have to be a tougher transition than we think.

Then again we do use our backup DE as a FB in goal line so who knows.

Only a bunch of times.

Raiders have had more success doing it than anyone else...
2-time All-Pro and 2-time Pro Bowler Billy Cannon
2-time All-Pro and 5-time Pro Bowler Todd Christensen
1-time Pro Bowler Ethan Horton

Cannon won the Heisman as a RB, then was an All-Pro and Pro Bowler at both RB (Oilers) and TE (Raiders) in the NFL.

It is complete Bs that all reference to a Derrick Henry story must be flooded into a coc-a-may-may thread of informing Titans fans of who was taken in the 2nd round...

Huh??

Outside of Lacy almost every one of them have been bad to mediocre at best... and Lacy is still on the bubble.
I suppose there should be a timeline added to when (if a curse actually exists) it started. Alexander was in 2000 and if that was a curse, sign me up.
With the list dating back to 2000, Yeldon, Lacy, Richardson, Ingram, Coffee, Le'Ron McClain, and then Shaun Alexander, I would argue that Henry should be good for one good season at least. All these guys had at least one pretty solid season except Coffee who retired after one season.

Coffee hurt his knee so we can't judge how good he would have been. You can go back further to Derrick Lassik who was a solid backup for Emmitt Smith in Dallas or even further back to Bobby Humphrey who was having a fine career until injuries hit.

Other than Richardson there are no total busts in that list. The haters always dwell on that one guy. Every anti Bama poster or moron talking head will bring Richardson up as if he is typical when he is not.

It's the same idiots like Clay Travis and Colin Cowherd who said Bama was done after the Ole Miss loss. Where they right?

Take Eddie George circa 1996. Add 10 pounds to his frame. Make him at least a step faster and then draft him a full round later. What moron, what idiot would call that a bad pick? What sucking communist pos moron would think that?

Hmmmmmmmmm.

What happened to the 1st amendment and Federalist Papers!? How in the hell did a derailment get back on line just when it was getting juicy? My fault for not visiting the thread for a bit. I can't wait to see this kid run. Will he stutter in the backfield, or truck the opposition the way he should? We shall see soon....

Henry is insanely big and explosive, he will create his own yards despite what the line gives him. And if the line does their job oh. My. God look out

Super excited to see Henry on Sundays

I didn't bother doing research prior to 2000. I guess I felt that list was enough to prove the point but I agree with you, that only Richardson was a complete waste and even he had one good season.

Key words: "Circa 1996"

Hey bud. That was 20 years ago...

20 years ago, Henry would have been a great pick.

Today? No.

More talking the current era since 'Bama has been good again.

Nothing but overhyped mediocre backs have come out of that system.

Other than Lacy, who can actually play. The rest? Nothing to see.

And even Lacy is struggling.

And I'd take Richardson over Henry - a sure-fire bust. That's how bad I think Henry is.

Not all that impressive but Ingram is good for about 800 total yards and 5 TD in a dual back field. With today's RB by committee offenses, that seems fairly productive. I think Henry is a different style and I want to see his hands/routes in games to see if he becomes a receiving threat also.

Yeldon was a rookie on a team with no OL (sounds familiar) so he may still have something to prove with his split back field.

Hard to compare McClain in the mix because he was almost strictly FB but he did produce in his one season of opportunity.

I can't really recall the "overhypes" of any of these guys coming out of college except Lacy and Richardson. So far 1 right and one looking more the opposite.

You don't believe that at all
