They will take the plate out eventually.

He never got a chance to build up his speed. Bengals game planned to stop the run and force our QB to beat them.

Same sh*t different day.
The play calling last night was really bad as well. He has to go if we are gonna take the next step. No excuse for that quick passing call at the 10 after we were running all over them, and also the two calls on 3rd and 1 at the end were atrocious.

After a nights sleep I'm not mad any more. I just turned all of my Game App subs off and ready to move into the offseason. I will watch the Chiefs and Bills game tonight but after that I'm done. If there is a change at OC they will have to fire Downing quick because of where that hiring is right now. So we'll know pretty quick if they retain him or not. as far as Tanne, won't know anything until the next league year starts in March.

Tannehill isn’t going anywhere. 58 million in dead cap money. No team is gonna trade for that contract. Tannehill is the QB for next season and probably next 2.

Going 0-3 in your last 3 trips to postseason and then cockily proclaim you will remain the HC for “a while” (as in long time) is damn arrogant to me. Frankly another one and done or missed playoff and I would look for a replacement.

Especially if the notion of Schwartz being brought in to babysit Bowen was against Vrabels wishes as some posters have postulated.

Vrabel will obviously be extended, but his seat went from frosty cold to a little tingle of warmth after another embarrassing home playoff loss.

People need to remember, Vrabel was brought in with the expectation that he would take a good Titans team and make them a great one (i.e. go further and do better in the playoffs than Murlakey could ever have done). In the regular season, Vrabel has been great (41-24), but his post season record is now 2-3, with his home record being 0-2.

This is guy who proudly proclaimed that he would not be coaching a team that runs into 8 man boxes consistently because that is stupid. That line did not hold up well as that has been his offensive philosophy during entire tenure. To me, Vrabel is starting to show some signs of being Jeff Fisher 2.0.

If Tannehill has a repeat performance next season, I think there is a strong possibility Robinson will find a replacement. I think the cap hit, while crappy, is much more manageable (i think it would be about 20 Mil)

I doubt there is much change. It would be great to move to a better play caller, but I suspect Downing gets another year. The cap hit keeps us tied to Tannehill at least through next season. Don’t see a viable way to make the math work. If the Saints would trade a 7th for him… but who could you realistically sign even if that happened?

Good game, folks.

I know you're mad and I can relate. I've been a Bengals fan since 1981, so I know what it feels like.

The truth is, we saw two very good teams fighting it out last night. The Bengals got this one, but it could have gone either way.

The rematch next year should be a good one. See you then!

What are the chances JRobs seat gets warmer before Vrable? His evaluation and picking personnel on the offensive side is questionable.

In defense of Vrabel’s poor choice of words, I can’t imagine having to have a press conference after that loss. I would have been throwing chairs and turning over tables. All that being said “maybe we had too many sacks” is the dumbest statement ever.
I think he should have praised the Defense, (we had a championship caliber D) and he should have said : we made some poor coaching decisions and that turnovers and missed opportunities bit us.
And Bengals Suck

My personal opinion is that Robinson gets more leeway than Vrabel. I feel this way because Robinson oversaw the rebuilding of this team after being 5-27 the previous two seasons and has had six winning seasons in a row. In addition, Vrabel is Robinson's only head coaching hire, as Robinson was hired with Mularkey in place. Finally, Vrabel was hired onto a team coming off back to back winning seasons and playoff appearance. To me, Vrabel gets less leeway.

With that said, I think Robinson is not beyond improvement. Only 4/14 of the players recently drafted suited up yesterday. The Titans got no production from their two recent first round picks. The offensive line continues to be a liability in pass protection, especially on the right side of the line. Robinson goes into an offseason where he has to find a way to extend Landry. Oh and the 2022 season marks the end of the rookie deals from several key contributors: Simmons, Brown, Hooker, Long, and even Nate Davis. The cap will become an issue to be reckoned with in the future. Titans are currently projected to be $7.4 million over the 2022 Salary Cap (based on the 51 player offseason rule).

Robinson successfully rebuilt the team. Can he take it to the next level? Still an open question....

I sorta agree with this. I think Vrabels “too many sacks” comment was a clumsy way of saying instead of a ton of sacks he would prefer forcing poor throws that could be picked off.

Yes, we’re stuck with Tanny at least one more year. Now that I’ve had a little time to digest things though, I keep thinking about how good the offense was the past two years and Tanny was borderline elite at times with Art Smith at the helm.

Maybe if we get a real OC we could be back in action, even with Tanny? Garrapolo is worst than Tanny and just took down the Packers with MVP Rodgers so it can be done. But everything has to be perfect because Tanny isn’t the guy to elevate the team or win games on his own.

I would keep Vrabel over Robinson in a heartbeat. Vrabel is one of the best head coaches in the league. This team plays hard every single game, all 4 quarters. Robinson has made some terrible choices at the start of drafts and those choices are haunting us whether you realize it or not.

So True. But a lot of folks here think JRob is elite. You can't blow early picks and make up for them in the back 5 rounds. The first rounds are for "elite" talent or at a minimum starters that roll into a second contract. The latter rounds are more for fliers, diamonds in the rough etc. You can find depth and MAYBE hit in a later round, but its foolish to spend early rounds on "project fliers".

Play calling was bad last night. But the 3rd and 1 play call. I don’t know why people are upset about that. Didn’t someone just post a video talking about how effective that zone read is for the Titans? Like 90% effective. That play has been money for us.

Calling and shotgun pass after running for 70 yards on 4 plays is inexcusable though. Make them stop the run before abandoning it.

I think Jrob and Vrabel make a good team. And while I don’t always necessarily agree with the high risk high reward 1rd picks strategy Jrob sometimes employs, Simmons is looking like the steal of the decade and the jury is still out on Farley.

There was no doubt on Simmons- that guy was a beast that just got injured prior to the draft. That was a good pick. But the Wilson pick was as equally bad as the Simmons pick was good. Which balances his picks as average IMO. That's the only point I ever make about JRob. He isn't elite like so many want to make him out to be.
