Hope Amy, JRob, and Vrabel are on board with my plan. It’d be a nice change and certainly well deserved payback to the loyal fans that have stuck around this burning trash heap.Good plan—win the Super Bowl! Can you really lock down all four and not be in cap hell? Seems Henry is the easiest to replace.
Henry deserves a deal. The dude is top 3 and legit wins games for us. Teams have to game plan for him...More importantly, he is our identity.
We choose who and what are identity is. What successful team pays too much for a running back? Rams? Cardinals? Jets? Cowboys? Or maybe I should bring up the Titans. Name one team who has done it and it works out for. We don’t have to sign him. He deserves to get paid, but we don’t have to pay him.
I just feel we could probably do it without Henry.Hope Amy, JRob, and Vrabel are on board with my plan. It’d be a nice change and certainly well deserved payback to the loyal fans that have stuck around this burning trash heap.
Today did prove we can score with dion lewis and some random dude playing rb. Which I think is the best thing you can say about tanny at this point. I think the offensive line is more important than running back now. I would love 2 keep Henry but I dont think he is the key stone anymore.

Henry is back ppl
Not yet.
The difference is, the Titans win that game up 14-0 with Henry as the back.Today did prove we can score with dion lewis and some random dude playing rb. Henry grinds clock and keeps Brees on the sideline. Plus he brings a real threat/mental advantage over the midget RB for play action and is a threat to score.
The Titans offense runs through Derrick Henry. That can't happen with just any ol RB. Henry is a unique back who punishes defenses and is also a threat to score from anywhere on the field.
3 games under 75 yards this season. Coincidentally the 3 games he got the least touches.Maybe we'll get someone good the first ten games of the year instead of just the last four?

Coincidentally that was also the part of the season when he was playing with a QB who couldn't sustain drives.
Are you suggesting that getting more carries leads to getting more yards? What a revelation!3 games under 75 yards this season. Coincidentally the 3 games he got the least touches.
Build a good offense and any RB can get yards on his touches. Give him more touches and he will get more yards. This is 1st-grade level stuff.
Todd Gurley might get cut this offseason. Same with David Johnson. Le'Veon Bell is already on the trade block. 9 times out of 10, it ends up being a mistake to pay your RB big money.
The Titans can find another player to produce the same yards Henry does in the draft or in free agency. If not, the GM doesn't deserve a job in pro football.

This. I can guarantee you the patriots would not keep him...and they are the smartest team in football.
Yeah it is so easy to find franchis RBs that everyone has them. Look how great our RBs were prior to Henry...Are you suggesting that getting more carries leads to getting more yards? What a revelation!

There is nothing in Free Agency at RB
But a lot of good options in the draft.
Let's forget about yards and focus on a bigger stat.. Touchdowns. There are currently 7 RBs with 10+ TDs. All of them being "big name" guys...not smucks off the street.
So, it's so easy to replace the production of Henry, yet there are only realistically 4-5 RBs that will be close to his production yard/TD wise come the end of the season. That doesn't include the mental edge that Henry brings to the field.
Any of these guys rookies or no names?

Have you seen us without him?! Lol. What other team has a 6’3 250 lb back like him? I’ll wait....We choose who and what are identity is. What successful team pays too much for a running back? Rams? Henry is the type of back that punishes defenses and gets better as the game goes on and he gets more carries. That's no secret.
Show me one example of a rookie of free agent RB replacing 1500 yards and 15 TDs while being the focal point of an offense.
Look at the top backs this season. None of them are no name backs.
This "any RB can do that" stuff is just dumb.
There are plenty of examples at every position to point to "don't pay X position" big money. So I guess no player deserves to get paid because other players on different teams didn't produce after getting paid.
