What’s this knock on Zeke anyway?
He had 1800 total yards and 14 TD

That’s “down” from 2000 total yards and up from 9 TD.
Less than 100 less rushing yards but 6 more rushing TD.

Absolutely nothing says he didn’t earn his upgraded contract this year.

That is not the point. The point is that spending that much on a running back does ultimately help you win more games. The position values doesn’t match the price tag.

my guess is 4yr deal worth 45 to 50 million little over 10 million guaranteed first 2 years and way out year 3 like j-rob does
No way he only takes 10 mill guaranteed. That is the most important factor for these players now. Zeke got 50 mill guaranteed and Gurley 45 mill. What agent would take less with those two contract already on the books? You are looking at 40-50 mill guaranteed. Count on it.

If a WR has 1500 yard and 15 TDs that's GREAT. Sign em for 10 years 150 million...but if it's a RB, they're not worth paying.

You're just throwing the ol "RBs aren't worth paying" thing around because you heard it on sports center.

Nope...saying because it is true.

So a RBs 1500 yards and 15 TDs are worth less than that of a WRs 1500 yards and 15 TDs? Interesting.

I always thought the point of football was winning games. When a player at ANY position contributes heavily to that ultimate goal, they deserve to be compensated.

except for RB's because he heard it on TV somewhere....

Havent watched sportscenter in years. It's just very evident with how the top teams utilize their RBs and how the top paid RBs cause their teams inability to build elsewhere.

Resign Henry! Ever since EG told him to run like a man, he's been killing it. He doesn't even have that much wear and tear compared to most running backs over the last 4 years. He'll easily be worth this first contract.

So...you just draft any old rb to fill a need.....why can’t you just draft every position to fill those other needs?

...bc other positions have proven to be less replaceable. I feel like a broken record here. And as stated many times in this thread, it's not replacing derrick 1:1, but the tradeoff at RB is worth it for the upgrade at the other position assuming the money is actually spent

You have to repeat yourself because your position doesn't make sense. You're just regurgitating a tired old saying about RBs.

They're football players just like the rest of them. Some are good, some aren't. Not just anyone can play RB just like not anyone can play QB.

You could look around and find evidence that paying big money just about any position can fail and has countless times. Paying big money to any position can make it tougher to pay other positions. But for some reason, you see it as a problem exclusive to running backs.

Again, you can't just put any ol RB out there and hope for anywhere near what Henry gives the Titans. His value exceeds a lot of players on the team when it comes to winning games.

Sure, you could plug in a RB that rushes for 1000 yards and 8 TDs, spend the extra money on say a CB...but will that translate to more wins? That's a big gamble when the RB you're letting walk is winning games for you already.

AND THE REST OF HAVE STATED THAT IS NOT VERY SMART. HE IS THE BEST PLAYER ON THE TEAM...would be ignorant and foolish to let him WALK.

It is not a tired old position on running backs. It is not something we just heard in ESPN. It is a widely held belief throughout the NFL and by analytics. That opinion is everywhere and dominant in the league. It also has been born out by more examples then it has not been over the last decade—by a wide margin.

Its a lousy take tho, RBs drive all good offenses...
