El Orfanato is one of my favorite recent horror flicks. Definitely worth the watch.

Yeah, I watched it over the weekend. Very bleak, but a well-made, entertaining film..
I enjoyed it... but, yeah... overhyped.
I understand fully why, so don't feel like you need to "explain" it to me - no explanation needed - but I sure would have enjoyed a LOT more of the Basterds.
Also watched a coupla solid thrillers in The Square - Australian - similar to "Simple Plan" Better than the trailer...

I was going to watch 'The Square' just the other day.
Get Him To The Greek - It was ok. Not as good as I was expecting, but I was expecting a slap-stick type... this was more serious than I would have thought, but not serious enough to really work in that direction. Seems like a movie that wasn't sure what it wanted to do.
Decent, I guess. Jonah Hill wasn't that great, but he kinda saved it with his improv alone.
But considering it was a spin-off of Forgetting Sarah Marshall... yeah, what a let down.
Needed more Kristen Bell.

I, for one, love the Brand/Hill chemistry in both FSM and Greek. I'd love for them to continue to pair up in movies.

I finally got around to watching Predators.
Solid reboot for the franchise. Copied a lot of scenes and set pieces from the original but I enjoyed the characters.
Next one needs to step it up if it's to carry on but I would like to see another.

Never saw the original so I didn't know what to expect - but the sucker is a punch right in the gut. Forest Whitaker nails it. Can't recall a movie that made me wanna kick someone in the teeth so much as this. A very good little prison-esque flick. Recommended!

The Descent - 7/10
This one surprised me. I'm not saying it was great by any means, but it did its job as a horror film... quite a bit of jumps. Plenty of over-the-top, cheesy stuff, but I didn't mind it. I can't remember the last time I jumped this much or was legitimately freaked out multiple scenes.

^^There was a sequel released in the UK, but I don't know if they released it here in theaters.
It was straight to DVD here, I believe. It doesn't pack a punch like the original, plus it sucks.
I think you could have saved time there by simply saying "it sucks." :yes:
