Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

It’s not subjective or boring. I even post OTHER PEOPLES use or definition of the term.

The term is used all the time to define a player who occupies a position for years to come.

Lewan was a franchise LT
Henry was a franchise RB
Etc etc.

Some of you are just impossible to communicate with. I would be shocked if you can maintain a relationship. It’s the same freaking 4 or 5 posters.

You just have the insatiable need to be right. Ok…. You win. There is no such thing as a Franchise anything. ( even though the ****ing NFL even has a FRANCHISE TAG)
This may be one of the most hypocritical posts I’ve ever read. “You have an insatiable need to be right”. Hello mr kettle.

and just like that, you’ve changed the definition of “franchise” whatever in back to back responses to me.
You just proved my point why the term should t be used, because it gets thrown around easily and clearly has subjective definitions.

as you posted 2 links to the definition stating “the team’s best player (notice a lack of plurality) in which a franchise builds the team around”

you’re saying the titans built around Lewan? Or that he was the team’s best player at any point?
You don’t see that “franchise tag” doesn’t have to refer to what you’re describing as a franchise player? It could very week just mean the tag placed on a player by a franchise, synonymous with team tag.

if you’d like to redefine in your own words, please do, maybe just give the part where it’s a player who occupies the position for “years” to come. How many? Is a 3 year positional player a franchise player? Corey Davis played WR in Nashville for 3 years, was he a franchise WR?
Even better, was Mariota a franchise QB? Does the talent level of the player change whether a player is franchise or not?

see subjective.

Because they think short arms can't be good LTs, despite numerous short armed LTs having long successful careers, including Slater, who Skoronski took over for at Northwestern.

It's almost like the Titans made a sweeping judgement on him and didn't give him a chance to prove he could handle the position before moving him to a brand new position.

Yeah, make it make sense.

A LT needs long arms for pass pro to create more separation on the punch. Short arms means he probably isn't good at pass pro. So we should have drafted a guy with long arms who would be better at pass blocking. Last year the top pass blocking grade in college was ...<checks notes>

Peter Skoronski

Who when he joins the Titans instantly forgets how to pass block because of his short arms?

Make. It. Make. Sense.

So a team with one of the league's worst lines, knowing that they desperately needed a left tackle, used a.top pick on a guy that they knew couldn't play left tackle. Thus failing to address the position for multiple years resulting in the weekly sh** show we are currently watching. Got it.
apparently the scouts are so damn stupid they actually thought the All American LT was a LT... dumb-ass scouts

and stubbornly refuse to give him a well deserved chance cause they are askerd to be shown as the stupid clowntards the toothpaste led OL coaches are

Dillard and Duncan must've had a competition going on against Houston to see who could have the worst game. Duncan came out on top. I'm a firm believer it's not only the personnel, it's the coaching or lack thereof as well.

Of all the LT's we've drafted and acquired in the past few years, these are the best we have according to the coaching staff. A guy who was cut by the team that drafted him, and a 6th round rookie. Both of whom are playing like warmed over garbage. That is crazy.

To be fair, they did have Skoronski rotating between G and T in training camp. So they have seen him at LT up close. What bothers me is not giving him a chance NOW. With how bad our LT have been playing. Leave Rupcich at RG, move Brunskill to LG and try Skoronski at LT. Literally nothing to lose at this point.

Exactly.

Worth a look for depth? Or not any better than what we have at this point?

OT La’el Collins is traveling to Dallas to work out for the Cowboys, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported
