Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

I know preseason and limited playbook but I’m still worried about Downing syndrome. Didn’t see anything in playcalling to assuage my concerns. And Burks being a ghost doesn’t help my concern either in regards to our “passing coordinator”.

I think the defense could be elite this year. I like the way that they are all focusing on attacking the ball. We weren’t very good at creating turn overs last year. I think that changes this year.

Offense is a different story. The Oline looks terrible so far and the WR position is still a big question mark. I think Phillips is going to be a stud though.

Malik needs a lot of work but I like the potential. If he ends up working out, it’s a big score in the third round. If not, no big deal. He should at least be able to be a quality backup. I really hope he can “get it”. But the running around QBs with accuracy issues don’t have a good track record.

According to Madden, Josh Allen has the greatest throw power in the league with 99………logan woodside is officially the weakest armed qb in the league at 77. At least he has that going for him.

I think some of you guys need to step away from the ledge when trying to make judgment on Willis.

We're talking about a raw 3rd round QB that needs to sit 2 years, not a QB we drafted with the 4th pick to start for us this year.

Give the man some time to develop. Jesus. Let him take his bumps right now.

Regardless of what you want to think of him, you can clearly see that he has the tools and willingness to learn.

It's like some are wanting to see him fail.

We don’t have an adequate back-up QB and haven’t since Mariotta/Tannehill. The best thing for the team is for management to wake up and get a decent number two and let Willis redshirt for at least two seasons and learn the pro game. Against real NFL starters, Willis would struggle even more. Let’s develop the talent and not discourage the player by putting him in too soon. At the end of the day though, neither Willis nor Woodside look capable of stepping in against 1st stringers for any sustained playing time.
I don’t think this is really an option. I agree with what your saying but I don’t see an affordable backup available (even for trade) that would fill the role of backup QB that still keeps this team competitive enough to win a SB.

It’s really THill or bust at this point and with that mindset, I’d rather Willis be the backup to just get real time experience even if expectations of winning drop significantly.

He holds up the sign that says what formation they are going into. In this image he is holding a card that says 11. He was with Vrable in Houston.

Ah okay. Being with the Texans is probably why I thought he's been with us for a while, since we see them twice a year.

I like the look of Willis. Definitely not a starter this year but if we can keep him on the sidelines for a year and get more reps with 1st team should look good year 2 maybe 3 at worse. Would like to see him with the starting offense for a drive though. Kid was running for his life last night

Imagine we will lead the league in sacks against again. Tammy gots no wheels.

I agree we won’t and can’t sign an expensive back-up. But Woodside has never deserved to be the back-up. We have cut better options like Trevor Semien and kept the woefully untalented Woodside.

I don't want to see him fail. But the reality of the NFL is, if you don't have "it" by the time you get to play in the NFL, you most likely never will. Takes a lot more than being able to throw a ball and run around to be an NFL QB or there would be a lot more quality ones out there.

Give me some examples of extremely raw QBs that came in and "developed" into quality starters in the NFL.

I also think people are being extremely optimistic just because he's a Titan... I don't think if he was on another team anyone here would be clamoring about his "talent"... 46% completion and running around a lot. Exciting.

I truly have no attachment to woodside at all.

I honestly don’t really remember how the titans came about him. Actual clipboard Jesus has the same value, none.
