Titans Talk - Home for all things Tennessee Titans

It feels like we are a season away from being truly competitive, like we were in 2019-2021.

There are still questions at pass rush, S, RG, RT and depth everywhere, except maybe at CB and WR.

I think we will be better than we were last year, but still too many holes to be a true contender.

Making the playoffs this year is the goal. Makes for a very quick rebuild and the Super Bowl window officially opens.

If, BIG IF Levis is the guy and the WR Corp stays healthy our Titans will contend for a playoff spot. The Colts and in particularly the Texans are in for a rude awakening and the Jags will be what they always are.

Texan fan is doing what they always do. Thinking they are the NFLs best storyline. Should have nothing but Prime Time games. Should have had the prime time opener against the Chiefs over Lamar, DH and the Ravens because they are the more exciting team. They think JJ Watt is coming back and they will win the SB this season. Most delusional fanbase in the NFL. (Man I hope this ages well)

He was offered a contract for life with a front office job after his playing days. The Titans also offered him 6 mil per year more than Denver.

Vannett is a journeyman TE who has started games for 6 teams in 9 NFL seasons. When PIT traded for him in 2019, Mason Rudolph praised the addition “Could tell he was a bright dude. I didn’t know how bright he was but he was able to get here in a week and pretty much absorb the game plan in a matter of days, and that was really impressive to me. He’s a professional, great dude.”
Nicknamed “Baby Gronk”, Vannett is more of a pass blocking TE than a pass catcher. This looks like a veteran addition meant to add experience to a young TE room.

In other words, 3 downs a month. I ain’t excited about a TE that don’t catch…. And reportedly doesn’t excell at run blocking either. :trophy:

What the heck is the point of a pass blocking tight end? I'm surprised that term has even been coined.

I like my QB to be more of the kneeling type than a thrower.

Seems an overdramatic signing since just using an OL would make more sense but, last year as an example, a pass blocking TE could have helped.

Idk given the Lathem is a rookie who's switching sides and our RT is one of three unproven young guys, I don't mind having a pass blocking specialist at TE.

Throw a 6th OL in if you need to go run heavy.

He would have been governor of Tennessee by now if he had come over and probably settled into a nice retirement job as a lifetime do nothing senator.
Yea but did you see that defense and WRs compared to ours?

They had Shane Ray!!! and eventual Tennessee Titans great Sylvester Williams!

Players aren’t allowed to be given ownership stakes, so that part was a myth.
I would imagine that wouldn’t start until he retired. I also heard coaching was offered but he was not interested at all
My guess is one look at the qb protection the Titans had the year before and he couldn’t get away from here fast enough
