I agree TE is a bigger need than WR if the offense is to remain the same.
This just proves your mind is still in the Wycheck Eddie George era.
Really enjoying this Thread. This is by far one of the better "Off-season" Threads we've had this Off-season.
Adoree didn't come in here after two back surgeries either, did he? Finnegan didn't start from game one, did he?It is also interesting that I pointed out Adoree basically started from week one as a rookie ( a year we lost both starting CBs to free agency like this year) and I remember Finnegan, a 7th round pick getting plenty of playing time his rookie year and eventually becoming a starter on the outside.
Your words. Not mine. But hey, Farley and Fulton must be mentally slower than those guys?
Do the Titans run more two TE sets or three WR? I'll wait. This just proves your mind is still in the Wycheck Eddie George era.
We run a lot of ST plays and there may be 3 WR in those formations but that’s just a guess and more of a jab at how many STers we have over actual positional starters.Do the Titans run more two TE sets or three WR? I'll wait.

Wow, you got me there.... wait, Firkser played a bunch as a slot WR (counted as 2 TE). We also have a FB who can play H-Back and when Jonnu or Firkser did that it counted as an extra TE. So yes, we used a bunch of 2 -TE and or a FB sets.
When we did go with a more traditional 2 TE alignment we used Jonnu and Swain. Now Firkser basically replaces Jonnu. We still have Swain.
We have traditionally had a blocking TE and a TE that could catch (Luke Stocker is available, remember Fasano). Nothing changes. Believe it or not JRob let Jonnu walk because he wasn't worth the price to keep and because we had Firkser to step into that role. Firkser will simply get many more snaps this year as a TE or slot guy.

So why couldn't Fulton play if Farley can't go? And Finnigan played a bunch of snaps for a 7th round rookie but the point is if he had to start he could have. I'm not sure why you think Farley is a lost cause already except for the typical negative perspective.
Let me spell it out for you. We will not be able to get any quality CB without having to over spend in a trade and my preference is to go with what we have be it Borders, Fulton or whoever. If we spend anything in a trade we have other priorities like WR. You basically have to completely dismiss Farley and Fulton as players as well as any chance Molden could contribute as a rookie to go into desperation mode.
Now look at last year. Adoree was hurt and so was Fulton (also missed time with Covid). We were starting Joseph outside with Chris Jackson (7th round pick) as the NB. So yes we were able to get King from a team out of the playoffs. King upgraded the NB position but was only rated at 60 in coverage and part of a pathetic coverage defense down the stretch. JRob let him go and didn't think he was worth the whopping $3 mil contract he signed with the Texans.
CB is young and raw. Get Julio, let the secondary learn on the job, and win shootouts for the first half of the year. Mid year the secondary should gel, we can get through Julio's injury, and then he'll be fresh for playoffs.
As it sits, Brown is getting double team'd and the box is getting stacked. I like the Reynolds signing, but he's going to have to really produce if he's our #2. Julio, or any quality #2 for that matter, will make this offense much better. Julio for a 2nd or less, I'm on board.
Also helps that, on paper, our front 7 should actually be able to generate a pass rush.

Actually we don't know that. TJ I love ya man but we aren't trading for a corner. We don't need to.Do the Titans run more two TE sets or three WR? I'll wait.

Gonna be hard to double a guy with 8+ guys in the box.
Idk why y’all freak out about the 8+ in the box, we have faced that like every single year since the Titans became a team lol. We’ve got a couple 2K yard rushers out of it too.
Think the point is we make em pay for doing that with receiving threats. Like you’ve already pointed outGonna be hard to double a guy with 8+ guys in the box.

This is why I’ve been hoping for Crowder. But he hasn’t been cut yet. And I agree that if the plan is for Firk to play a bunch of slot, TE or WR2 are a bigger need.If we trade for anything it needs to be a WR or a TE. Between Fulton, Farley, Borders, Jenkins, Molden, Kevin Johnson, Chris Jackson, and even Dane Cruishank playing some nickel, I think our secondary is in better shape overall this season than last. Obviously Farley and Molden need to turn out to be good players, but I don't see why they won't.
We have 2 tight ends and one of them played slot reciever most the time last year and the other one was basically a blocker. We also ran more 3TE sets than any team in the league. Tight end is a much greater need that WR and CB unless we plan on changing our offense completely and not running 3 TE sets this year. If we plan on playing Firk In the slot(where he thrived), then TE is easily the biggest need. if we plan on sticking Firk on the line and letting him be true #1 TE then Slot WR/WR2 is easily our greatest need.
Not Corner... Try to atleast have some faith in our rookies.
Jets' Jamison Crowder absent from OTAs as he's 'working through' a contract matterThis is why I’ve been hoping for Crowder. But he hasn’t been cut yet. And I agree that if the plan is for Firk to play a bunch of slot, TE or WR2 are a bigger need.
Maybe after the Kevin Johnson retirement, we should have signed another CB instead of a wrestler
A healthy wrestling stable could really bring in some fans although I’d like to see a promo before making final judgement.Jets' Jamison Crowder absent from OTAs as he's 'working through' a contract matter

That’s not how it works. If you sign a wrestler for OL then lose a corner, you sign a swimmer.

We won't be outdone by the Jags signing a QB to play TE..we sign a wrestler to play GuardA healthy wrestling stable could really bring in some fans although I’d like to see a promo before making final judgement.
@The Hammer there's your Guard!

Maybe we should trade for a different Jones
